The #Arthritis Subcommittee of the ESSR - European Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology has developed clear, #radiologist-specific definitions and threshold criteria for reporting #MRI of the spine and sacroiliac joint in axial spondyloarthritis with the goal of aiding the general radiologist with an interest in MSK. #EuropeanRadiology 🔗 https://buff.ly/3WV81dn

Here I am Happy to Share My Article About: Caudal Tilt Vs Cranial Tilt In radiology, caudal and cranial tilts refer to the angulation of the X-ray tube relative to the patient's body. These terms describe the direction in which the X-ray beam is angled: 1. Caudal Tilt: The X-ray tube is angled toward the feet (inferiorly), meaning the beam is directed downward, away from the head. This tilt is used to better visualize certain anatomical structures or avoid overlapping areas. For example, a caudal tilt is often used in pelvic X-rays to visualize the sacrum or pubic symphysis clearly. 2. Cranial Tilt: The X-ray tube is angled toward the head (superiorly), meaning the beam is directed upward. This tilt is employed when certain structures are better visualized with an upward projection. For instance, a cranial tilt is sometimes used in cervical spine X-rays to enhance visualization of specific vertebrae or in chest X-rays for the apices of the lungs. Both caudal and cranial tilts help avoid superimposition of structures and provide a clearer diagnostic image of the area being studied. #sns #snsinstitution #Radiology #caudal #cranialtilt #xray #designthinking

A shoulder arthrogram is a technique that uses contrast dye to identify specific shoulder injuries. It's used in X-rays, CT scans, or MRI scans to highlight areas of soft tissue damage. This is an X-ray of the first shoulder arthrogram I performed, and one of many images I reflect on to see how far I've come in this specialty. This week we are discussing the role of imaging in Knee Arthroplasty / Replacement! Complication #1 : Aseptic loosening The importance of paying attention to increasing radiographic lucencies at the bone-prosthesis interface or the bone-cement interface is to rule out aseptic prosthetic loosening, which when caught early, requires regular follow up, as it increases the risk of periprosthetic fractures and prosthesis dislocation/ displacement.. #tkr #knee #pain #postoperative #imaging #osteolysis #loosening #fracture #fall #education #radiology #resident ESSR - European Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology International Skeletal Society | ISS Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Arthroplasty Society in Asia Total hip and knee Arthroplasty
