Predicting the solubility of an active principle (the molecule with a therapeutic effect on patients) in mixtures of organic solvents is of paramount importance for the design, operation and optimization of drug manufacturing processes. In our new paper (https://lnkd.in/dyv2eRsk) we propose a novel approach based on supervised machine-learning, which is similar to quantitative structure-property relationship models, but where different solvent types are identified by molecular descriptors as UNIFAC subgroups, to perform solubility prediction. This Summer, the NativeMP™ Targets have changed the game by maintaining membrane proteins in their native environment—enabling high-quality assays, deep insights into 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗶𝗻-𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, and application versatility at physiological conditions. Organic bioactive molecules constitute an efficacious and safe class of therapeutics when compared to synthetic analogues. However, precise information about bioactivity and the relationship to their structure play an important role in the design of these therapeutics. Therefore, it is important to develop analytical methods and procedures that will answer the question: "what is the bioactivity?". Quantitative structure-retention relationships (QSRR) allow you to quantitatively evaluate the relationship between bioactivity and chromatographic retention. Prof Bogusław Buszewski will be discussing his work at #ISC2024, aimed at predicting the behavior of analytes in order to expand data sets when determining biological activity, membrane permeability, binding to serum proteins, and drug volume distribution using new generation columns.
