Neutral Static Stability: Following a disturbance, the aircraft maintains its new position, neither returning nor deviating further. This condition is typically undesirable as it leads to oscillations. Neutral static stability🛩️ An aircraft that has neutral static stability tends to stay in its new attitude when it's disturbed. For example, if you hit turbulence and your nose pitches up 5 degrees, and then immediately after that it stays at 5 degrees nose up, your airplane has neutral static stability. Negative Static Stability🛩️ The aircraft diverges from its original position after a disturbance, requiring continuous control inputs to prevent further deviation. Negative static stability demands vigilant pilot intervention. 2. Dynamic Stability:✈️ Dynamic stability encompasses an aircraft's response to disturbances over time. It involves oscillatory behavior and the aircraft's ability to dampen these oscillations. Dynamic stability can be categorized into: Positive Dynamic Stability🛩️ Aircraft that show signs of positive dynamic stability experience gradual dampening oscillations after a disturbance. Each oscillation will be weaker than the previous until the aircraft steadily returns to its original state. Neutral Dynamic Stability🛩️ In neutral dynamic stability, the oscillations continue in the same motions following a disturbance, neither increasing nor decreasing, causing the aircraft to maintain constant deviation from its initial position. Negative Dynamic Stability🛩️ Aircraft with negative dynamic stability will experience amplified oscillations after a disturbance. The beacons are attached to the flight recorders and fuselage of aircrafts and are activated when they come into contact with water. They are designed to survive accidents and function correctly after impact. The LF-ULD is located in the aft or bulk cargo compartment behind the vertical sidewall panel. An underwater locator beacon (ULB), also called an underwater locating device (ULD) or underwater acoustic beacon is a device fitted to aviation flight recorders such as the cockpit voice recorder (CVR), the flight data recorder (FDR) as well as to the aircraft fuselage. Once activated by immersion in water, a ULB is designed to emit an ultrasonic pulse at 37.5 kHz every second for a duration of at least 30 days. ULBs attached to the airframe transmit at 8.8kHz and are called low frequency ULBs.
