As a nation, we cannot afford to let any public health programs to suffer from budgetary cuts. Such cuts to funding could lead to reduced funding for public health programs, including disease prevention, health promotion, and emergency preparedness. Reductions in public health funding can affect the availability and accessibility of community health services. Make your voice heard by contacting your members of Congress and urge them to protect the Prevention and Public Health Fund from legislation that would cut its funding from FY 2025 through 2029.

Nurses, health professionals, read this! Health care is political, it is partisan and republicans want to cut the CDC budget by billions of dollars. At a time when we are still dealing with COVID, other communicative and chronic illnesses, heat related illness, food contamination, gun violence, illness caused by environmental hazards. We need science - illness is complex, disparities in health care are significant. We can’t afford to cut the CDC. This is one of the Project 2025 ideas, eliminate public servants with expertise and do whatever the corporations want at the expense of people. Twenty-five members of the Obesity Care Advocacy Network joined together to advocate for the inclusion of an amended version of the Treat and Reduce Obesity Act (TROA) in any end-of year healthcare package. “It is time to move forward with a solution for removing the coverage barriers that are getting in the way of older Americans’ access to care for the disease of obesity.
