E-plastics hold a wealth of untapped potential, yet face significant hurdles in the recycling industry. At the 2024 E-Scrap Conference, experts highlighted the need for processors to think beyond electronics markets and explore additional sectors like automotive. 💡 This shift could help tap into international demand, particularly in countries with stringent recycling mandates such as Japan and South Korea, where the automotive industry is already integrating recycled materials. Having worked in waste management, I've seen how challenging it can be to adapt to regulatory landscapes, especially with complex materials like e-plastics where yields are low due to ingredients like bromine. 🌍⚖️ But with the right policies, such as enhanced recycling mandates, there's a promising opportunity to elevate recycling efforts, making them more sustainable and economically viable. 🤔 What are your thoughts on expanding the market for e-plastics beyond electronics?
