🌍✨ At #COP16, we’re reminded of the critical balance between agricultural needs and environmental sustainability. Palm oil has often been in the spotlight for its negative impact on forests and biodiversity, but there’s a transformative project happening in Sumatra that’s rewriting the narrative! Major brands like Danone, Mars, L’Oréal, and L’Occitane have joined forces with Livelihoods to support 2,500 smallholder farmers in their journey towards sustainable palm production. By integrating agroforestry, regenerative agriculture, and biodiversity enhancement, this initiative is building a transparent and deforestation-free supply chain! In just three years, the project has achieved remarkable milestones: 🌳 RSPO certification for 800 independent smallholders 🌿 4,000 hectares of palm farms regenerated 🌍 8,000 hectares of local biodiversity protected Through extensive training and community empowerment, farmers are adopting sustainable practices that improve soil health and reduce reliance on chemical fertilizers. Plus, the project is making strides in enhancing the financial literacy of women farmers, promoting economic independence! We're calling on more brands to join this journey. We started working on creating a regenerative cotton ecosystem via our partners from all around the world and closely work with local partners to establish and empower a regenerative agricultural system in Turkey. Regenagri is an international regenerative agriculture program for securing the health of the land and the wealth of those who live on it.
