Coastal cities across New York are facing major sea-level rising – New York City sea levels could rise by more than a foot in the next 10 years. But our communities are already feeling the effects of climate chaos. Increasing storms, fewer snow days, and unbreathable air are not part of some dystopian future – they’re happening right now. On top of a statewide housing crisis and our state government's failure to shelter migrant newcomers, we must take action now – and we have the solutions that will transform New York’s future. Join us tomorrow, February 29th at 4:30 PM ET for the People’s Briefing on #LivableNY, a bill that will take on the housing and climate crises while creating good union jobs for all New Yorkers, no matter their immigration status or conviction record. RSVP to learn more about this landmark bill and how we’re going to transform our state together. https://lnkd.in/drdMD5sD

Would have very much loved to bee there 🐝🏠 Such fascinating political dimensions. If more planners are needed to speed up the development review process, as a way of producing more housing, then sign me up 👨🎓 #housingcrisis #housingsupply #housingsolutions

So why would the President of the Law Society of NSW be interested in supporting the Imagination Library program? If you stop to look at it from the perspective, our legal system needs to deal constantly with people who may have found themselves in trouble with the law. In so many cases where crime is involved, we hear of people who have not had a good start in life. Many may have struggled with learning that can be linked to poor literacy. Poor literacy leads to poor educational outcomes which leads to poor employment outcomes and that in turn leads to poor socio-economic outcomes in our communities. If we can help children, in their formative years, to read and learn in order to succeed, we are able to change the trajectory of a child's future to becoming a valuable contributor to society. That is why the Law Society is supporting this early years children's literacy development program. #dollypartonsimaginationlibrary #unitedwayaustralia, #LawSocietyNSW The Law Society of NSW Brett McGrath United Way Australia Dolly Parton's Imagination Library Liz Dibbs Claire Galea Clayton Noble

A great day with Tamworth Regional Council Mayor Russell Webb and United Way Australia' Leo Krikmann to announce The Law Society of NSW's support for the expansion of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library across NSW. Give a child the love of reading and you give them a brighter future. #PresidentsCharity 📔 This video shot and cut by our own Henry Ea
