The interplay between psychological needs, societal norms, and religious teachings creates a complex landscape regarding gender relations. While psychoanalytic feminism provides insights into the psychological dimensions of oppression, it is crucial to recognize the role of laws—both secular and religious—in promoting equitable treatment.The teachings of Islam, particularly those attributed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), serve as a moral counterbalance to inherent power dynamics, advocating for respect and kindness towards women. This perspective aligns with contemporary discussions on gender equality, emphasizing that laws and social norms can play a vital role in mitigating oppressive tendencies.

🌍 How can we ensure #genderequality in parliamentary processes? International IDEA, INTER PARES | Parliaments in Partnership and EU-WYDE launches the new handbook: Beyond Numbers: Stories of Gender Equality in and Through Parliaments.  The handbook presents real stories of #parliaments that have adopted #gendersensitive practices.
