As an HVAC business owner, hopefully you can spot a good technician. Can you spot a good salesperson too? If you haven't been one yourself (at the pro level) you don't have a chance. Invest in a reputable (expensive) sales recruiter and ongoing sales training. It's less stressful to teach salespeople to HVAC than it is to teach technicians to sell. ✌️❤️ #hvac #recruiting #salestraining #smallbusiness #mindset

Is who you WANT to hire, who you NEED to hire? 🤔 We need more Technicians! This is what I always hear when I start a new engagement with a client. But early in the engagement, it's obvious that they need Project Managers or a refinement in roles and responsibilities to help keep the projects on track and make the process more efficient. This would help them eliminate the mistakes that are happening thus freeing up time for their existing Technicians to complete the work that's already sold! Scaling isn't always about selling more, it's about using what you have to produce more so that Sales is NOT a burden on Operations. You'd be blown away at how much more productive you can be after analyzing your workflow because when you can see it, the solution becomes obvious. What's your process? #leansixsigma #continuousimprovement #processimprovement #workflowdocumentation #generalcontractors #specialtytrade #hvac #plumbing #electricians

Hiring HVAC Technicians Shouldn’t Feel Like a Gamble 🎲 Every HVAC business I talk to has the same hiring struggle: Finding reliable, skilled technicians. You post job ads. You interview. You think you've found “the one”… And 6 months later, they’re gone. What’s the problem? It’s not just technical skills. It’s attitude. Work ethic. And fit with your company culture. But here’s a hack: STOP hiring based on skills alone. When you hire for attitude and willingness to learn, you’re building a team that’s loyal, trainable, and stays for the long haul. Next time, ask yourself: "Is this someone who will grow with my business?" 👀 If you’re tired of high turnover, I have a solution for you. Comment "TEAM GROWTH" below, and I’ll send you a free cheat sheet to hire for attitude and loyalty.
