Andrew Palmer has a great point. Ever since #PeterDrucker, there has been the idea to have a "Monday rule ditching meeting" to get rid of rules and processes that no longer make sense. However, in leadership transition periods, I have seen that people complain about these but they don't know how to get on with their lives without the useless rules. So they don't want to change or are afraid of change🤦♂️ So far I have seen too many: dedicated breakfast time, no leaving the office building during working hours to grab a bite or just to walk to clear your mind, can't buy food in the canteen during working hours and probably my favorite so far: telling your boss where you are "just in case". Leadership and performance management has to evolve fast. What's the rule that no longer makes sense in your company?
