The Top 50 Farmers Recognition Program celebrates Europe’s regenerative farmers, providing access to mentorship, market access, financing, and peer networking to drive a movement that regenerates our land and food system, safeguarding nature and biodiversity too. This is where you come in! By nominating a farmer or applying directly yourself, you put a spotlight on a regenerative farm transforming their region. Focused on Food Security, Climate Change, and Economic Development In an era of rapid transformation, it’s essential to stay focused on the pillars that will define our global future: food security, climate resilience, and sustainable economic growth. As we work to bring more food into communities worldwide and extend my life’s goal of 1M farmers that increases my technology’s reach, it’s humbling to see the impact and recognition that follows these efforts. This week, I am thrilled to share that the Center for Sustainable Agricultural Excellence and Conservation has received continued support from the Walton Family Foundation for our ongoing work in the Arkansas/Mississippi Delta. Their backing amplifies our ability to impact food systems, particularly in regions that stand as both rich in agricultural tradition and challenged by economic inequities. A colleague from ESRAG - Environmental Sustainability Rotary Action Group recently suggested that I consider applying for the The Earthshot Prize, a reminder of how collective recognition can bolster our mission of implementing sustainable environmental/agricultural, climate-smart solutions on a global scale. Additionally, East Palatka Farm continues to serve as a fertile training ground for the latest farming innovations and techniques, helping foster a new generation of resilient, skilled farmers. This #NewYorkClimateWeek we brought together partners from around the world to share what's working and the challenges we need to overcome to scale up climate-smart, regenerative agriculture practices.   Over 60% of Mars emissions are tied to our ingredients, so we're partnering with farmers and suppliers to drive practices that not only contribute to carbon footprint reduction but also can deliver a wide range of benefits - soil health, biodiversity, water and economic resilience.    On the Mars path to a 50% reduction in emissions by 2030, this work is vital. We're making progress - we have reduced absolute GHG emissions by 16% across our value chain since 2015 - but as one of my fellow panellists, farmer Trey Hill said, making these shifts is not a check box exercise, it’s a holistic mindset change. As panelist Guillaume V. from our partner Soil Capital said, how can we speed up the flywheel? We recently had the privilege of participating in this event that brought together key stakeholders across the supply chain including farmers, maltsters, and some great brewers all united by a shared commitment to incentivize regenerative farming practices. At Adam Henson's Cotswold Farm Park in Cheltenham, UK, we highlighted the transformative potential of the Cefetra/Soil Capital partnership with the world’s largest maltster for UK grown malting barley. Our presentation at the event showed the value of Cefetra's full physical supply chain involvement as the bridge between farm production and processing facilities. Earlier this year, we announced a 3 year malting barley supply agreement, equivalent to the production of over 358 million liters of beer - in real world terms: that is the equivalent of Croatia’s annual beer consumption! At this scale the agreement achieves is a meaningful step up from pilot sized programmes in the industry and marks a significant acceleration in improving soil health, reducing emissions, and addressing Scope 3 challenges within the agricultural supply chain.
