FastWave Medical’s Post

We’re thrilled to bring you our latest fellows-themed interview with the vibrant Dr. Rhian E. Davies, DO MS FACC FSCAI, interventional cardiologist and Director of Complex Coronary at WellSpan Health in York, Pennsylvania. As you probably know, she’s also a thought leader in the world of high-risk PCI. In this edition, Dr. Davies reflects on setting personal goals, shares tips on presenting at conferences, and discusses the importance of building relationships that extend beyond just physician colleagues. And as a token of our appreciation for joining our interview series, we arranged a special surprise for Dr. Davies. Tane McClure, who played Elle Woods' mom in Dr. Davies' favorite movie, ‘Legally Blonde,’ sent a whimsical hello just for her! Check it out below! 👇🏼 Here’s a teaser from the full conversation with Dr. Davies: ❓FastWave Medical: Looking back at the early stages of your career, right after fellowship, were there business or professional concepts that you wish you had understood better? 💡Dr. Davies: I wish I had a better understanding of contract review and its implications. It’s crucial to know what the contract offers, the goals of the practice you’re joining, details of your salary, and how it's structured. Beyond that, it's important to set personal goals for developing your program or business within the healthcare system you’ve joined. Answering questions like how many cases you aim to handle, where your patients will come from, and how they will learn about your services is vital. Ensuring you’re as accessible to your patients as they are to you is vital for building a successful practice and delivering care to patients who might not be aware of your specialty or existence.
