Happy to share my participation in the 10th Edition of the International Youth Conference (IYC) Attending this prestigious event has been an enlightening and transformative experience, providing a platform for young leaders to collaborate on #globalissues like #climateresilience, #sustainabledevelopment, and #socialjustice. It was inspiring to connect with passionate changemakers who are actively contributing to building a more equitable and inclusive world. As an #InternationalRelations student, this opportunity allowed me to expand my understanding of pressing challenges such as #migration, #humanRights, and #youthleadershipingovernance. The discussions were not just thought-provoking but also action-driven, encouraging us to develop innovative solutions to address today's most critical global problems. A special shoutout to all the incredible organizations like UN-Habitat (United Nations Human Settlements Programme) , IOM - UN Migration , United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and AFS Intercultural Programs , whose tireless efforts empower youth to drive meaningful change. INTERNATIONAL DAY OF FRIENDSHIP 2024. The International Day of Friendship was proclaimed in 2011 by the UN General Assembly through resolution (A/RES/65/275) with the idea that friendship between peoples, countries, cultures and individuals can inspire peace efforts and build bridges between communities. The resolution places emphasis on involving young people, as future leaders, in community activities that include different cultures and promote international understanding and respect for diversity. To mark the International Day of Friendship the UN encourages governments, international organizations and civil society groups to hold events, activities and initiatives that contribute to the efforts of the international community towards promoting a dialogue among civilizations, solidarity, mutual understanding and reconciliation. The International Day of Friendship is an initiative that follows on the proposal made by UNESCO defining the Culture of Peace as a set of values, attitudes and behaviours that reject violence and endeavour to prevent conflicts by addressing their root causes with a view to solving problems. It was then adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1997. 👏 Thanks to Annika Maurer, I had a wonderful time with my cohorts, exploring what cultural exchange means in today's context. 👏 With the ongoing conflicts, nothing is more important than learning how to effectively communicate with each other in both individual and state level. 👏 Reflection of Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) #Connections2024 - Peace begins when you "agree to respectfully disagree." - Patience and tolerance are essential to bridge the gap of understanding and to form genuine connections. - Rather than diplomacy being a "mere exchange of information," I wonder how the cultural element could be effectively integrated to foster better communication and utilization of the information. (Is it possible to blur the line between hard and soft diplomacy?) - Cultures make attitude. Culture should be learned. #Youth4Peace #InterculturalConnections

My Talk about "Global South solidarity School, "The Global South School is a unique and distinctive approach, representing one of the ideal visions for a purposeful strategy and a strong start towards the roadmap of the future. It reflects the direction of and reinforces Egypt's cooperation with the countries of the Global South, with whom we share a common history and struggle. In addition, it focuses on developing youth policies and empowering them to leave a constructive mark. This is an opportunity to enhance local and international cooperation, exchange experiences and ideas, and learn about the countries of the Global South. The school acts as a bridge to strengthen, enrich, and activate the role of youth in international relations across different fields and directions, engaging them in dialogue, building, and exchanging experiences with officials. Participation is akin to being both an ambassador and a decision-maker simultaneously. Youth are the emerging powerful soft force on the international stage.
