Getting out the door for the gym or training after a mentally and physically demanding day can be one of the hardest things to do. It’s a challenge I faced tonight. Even as someone who has built a life around physical activity—working as an international athlete and professional sportsman—I still find it difficult sometimes. The hardest part is often just taking that first step out the door. But tonight, I pushed through and made it to rugby training. The moment I got moving, the energy, the camaraderie, and the thrill kicked in. I had an absolute blast, and now I feel incredible. The truth is, the benefits of exercise and staying healthy are undeniable. It’s not just about physical fitness but also mental resilience. Over the weekend, I organized my first “Surviving to Thriving in the Ocean” masterclass to boost ocean confidence. It was so much fun for both the participants and me!🌸🙏 In the afternoon, my childhood friend, who is in Australia for work, asked me to arrange a surf lesson for her coworkers and herself. I reached out to @kirrapoint.surfschool , and they made it possible. Everyone had a blast! (And I highly recommend them.🏄♀️) At the end of each activity, I was often asked: “Why do you mix all these as a coach? Why swimming, fitness, psych-k®, and so on?” My first answer was simple: because I love doing all of this, and I believe it’s all connected. On Sunday, I had a deep and powerful chat with @ana_salido_ ,which reminded us of our ‘why’. Here’s mine: I mix different modalities because they all teach us how to truly take care of ourselves—not just superficially, but on a deeper level. Self-care is more than just going to the spa. It’s about nurturing, healing, feeding, and growing our mind, body, and soul. They are all interconnected. As women, we often put ourselves last, but we need to change that. My goal as an individual, coach, and business owner is to grow, evolve, and lead by example. Gym session with my trainer this morning. Friends and clients ask, why I visit Dan. I explain he is my accountable partner. He keeps me on track and stops my bad habits. Very much my own role as a life planner. It’s your life, but I’ll hold you accountable. If you tell me something is really really important to you, surely you will take steps to achieve your goal. And if motivation was a person, I'd slap that sucka back to bed. NO ONE IS ALWAYS MOTIVATED! Motivation will always come in waves, and if you're relying on it to get to your goals, then you're fighting an uphill battle 😮💨 . 👉🏽 What do you need to do? 1️⃣ Find your Long Term goal that you truly DESIRE. 2️⃣ Set yourself stepping stone goals along the way to constantly feel accomplished. 3️⃣ And, while keeping your eyes on your long-term goal is important, be PROCESS FOCUSED rather than OUTCOME FOCUSED. If you do the simple shit every single day (the shit that is gonna help you reach your goal), then you're always gonna get there. Motivation is a lie. Gym taught me discipline is the real thing. I had always been dependent on motivation to give me a kick. It actually did, but it used to be so temporary. Watching a motivational video or an inspiring movie and sit for work for an hour and then go back to bed. Such a bullshit thing to do right? Depending on motivation left me procrastinating for so long. I always used to find ways to inspire myself and then sit for the work. Until lately, when I realized that sitting down daily at my desk will build momentum and it will become habitual and easier for me to do over time. And I learned this thing in the gym. I used to give excuses to myself for skipping some days to the gym, But over time when I got regular, going to the gym became my favorite part of the day. There are always some things or incidents that teach you real-life lessons.
