The pandemic certainly made us think about the standard 9-5 day very differently. The desire to have better balance of work and life, work for a company with a purpose and especially the rise of ‘hybrid working’ are great examples. I have/had wrestled with the impact of hybrid working on office culture and productivity for the long term, particularly in higher energy or creative environments (sales and marketing) where collaboration can thrive when together. Having said that, there are some amazing examples of companies who have truly embraced hybrid working and their people are thriving. Hybrid work is becoming increasingly popular among employers, and it’s easy to see why. Asking an employee to come into the office on certain days, while still allowing him/her to work from home for the remainder of the workweek, provides the flexibility that so many workers are looking for in our current business climate.
