1 big thing: It’s with profound gratitude, optimism, and a sense of accomplishment that I share that today marks my last at Axios HQ.
I can’t imagine it happens too often that someone voluntarily steps away from the best company they’ve ever worked for, the best people they’ve ever worked alongside, the sexiest brand and most innovative product they’ve ever been associated with, and the most deeply rewarding role of their career…
• But here I am. Here I go. I’m doing exactly that.
Between the lines: My wife and I have both long been the types to give all of ourselves to our careers. With that, having kids wasn’t really a priority of ours… until, suddenly, we realized it was.
Zoom out: The moment our daughter arrived in October of last year, everything changed.
It became clear what the most important thing in our lives now was, and it also quickly became apparent just how rapidly things were happening in terms of her growing up.
It’s with genuine sadness I step away from my role and teammates at HQ.
Yes, but: It’s with eagerness and excitement I step into my new full-time role — Leonora’s Dad.
What’s next: For the rest of 2024, I’ll be taking my skills offline to focus on getting to know and helping to grow my beautiful daughter, Leo.
Axios HQ meanwhile, I’ve no doubt, will continue to crush it. We’ve made some incredible hires, the product roadmap is ambitious and exciting, and the best is ahead for a company and group of people I hold in the highest esteem.
The bottom line: Time to trade in my dashboards, spreadsheets, and Zoom calls for diaper changes, tummy time, and learning to crawl, walk, and talk.
