That is something that is allowed in other countries, and NASA continues to use such aircraft to train its astronauts. The policies should be changed to allow that type of training to be done commercially in the United States. Establishment of a goal to support the development of point to point transportation, with all the potential benefits that will have for our international spaceport community. EUROPA FILES E27 A space submarine?! We don’t have any space submarines yet, BUT that is in the evolution of exploring the water worlds in our solar system like Europa. First we gathered data from several spacecraft from flybys to telescopes. Now we have Europa Clipper, the first dedicated mission to study the moon. A next step could be a Lander on the surface to take samples. And possibly a snake-like robot to crawl across the ice. After that, what’s really intriguing is possibly a submarine! We would love to get into Europa’s ocean and explore, but that’s crazy hard. We are currently experimenting with submarines under the ice in Antarctica and are learning a lot about what a space submarine would need. One problem is getting through the ice. Would we drill, bore, melt? We don’t know how thick it is yet or exactly what the composition of the ice is.
