A few days ago, I attended an event organized by Silicon Mountains a tech summit held annually. This summit helps Armenia become more high-tech and innovative. I really liked that people from different fields came together to support the government and private sector in becoming more digital, identifying their current gaps, and improving their skills and technology. In my opinion, there should have been some time for the audience to ask questions to the speakers. The coolest part was that they used AI, through Eventool.AI to help the audience catch key moments from the event. It was my first time seeing this tool in action. I also appreciated the time given for people to talk and network with one another, which was a great opportunity for building connections. My favorite part was the invest.ai session, where they discussed Armenia's strong potential for growth in the right direction. They highlighted the presence of talented individuals, supportive ecosystems, and the challenges SMEs, startups, and larger companies face when using AI, as well as the future directions for development. Thank you, Philippines Startup Week 2024, for having me on the panel “Hindsight, Insight, & Foresight: Preparing for a Post-AI Society.” It was great to join Bernadette Salinas from Kayana Solutions Inc. and Dominic Ligot from CirroLytix, with Jocel Isidro Dilag as our fabulous moderator. We talked about how Generative AI is changing society and reshaping industries, and the ethical considerations needed to guide its growth. We also touched on the importance of adaptive regulations that keep pace with AI’s rapid evolution, the challenges we face from our own experiences, and the steps businesses can take to balance innovation with responsibility. I highlighted the urgency of speed up data and AI upskilling and reskilling at all levels - especially as the digital divide grows. And why bringing more women and diversity into tech and AI isn’t just the right thing to do, it’s essential to avoid serious risks and make sure AI benefits everyone. It was a serious topic but we still managed to have a laugh or two! Europe’s Tech Landscape - The Facts 🚀 Europe’s tech workforce has soared to 3.5 million and is on track to match the U.S. in five years. 👩💻 Despite the growth, women still represent just 34% of tech talent, down slightly from 35% in 2015. 💼 Since 2015, 7x more talent works in venture-backed firms, and startups raised $426 billion - nearly 10x the previous decade. 🌱 21% of funding raised in Europe in 2024 went to sustainability-focused companies - double the U.S. 🤖 The UK leads Europe in AI with 60,000 active roles, a 5x increase from 2015. Recently I shared my insights about the AI boom, Ukrainian startups, and VivaTech with Dataconomy Media, thank you Elena Poughia for all your support 🇺🇦 🇫🇷 ▶ 14 startups demonstrated the power of Ukraine's tech sector in Paris, France. Solutions from Genera, Deus Robotics, Promova, Reservble, HOWCOW, Mark - personal medical assistant, and Outex, and others have once again demonstrated Ukraine's technological development, their expertise in AI technologies to solve requests in various fields - from fashion and robotics to the agricultural sector. ▶ It was the third time that the Ukrainian tech delegation was represented at one of the largest conferences in Europe - VivaTech Summit 2024, this year organised by Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Ukrainian Startup Fund, and the IT Ukraine Association. 💥 Also, I am always excited to join events and organizations that support women in technology. As a co-founder of Wtech, it was a great honor to join The Female Founders & Investors Networking Dinner organized by Thousand Faces, Women in AI, and Dataconomy Media. This once again demonstrates the importance of diversity in the tech sector and supporting women in AI. It was great to see so many bright minds coming together.
