Flotation Energy’s Post

We are delighted to announce that, along with our joint venture partner Vårgrønn, we have selected Aberdeen as the strategic and operational headquarters for our £2.5bn Green Volt project.   This paves the way for the development of Europe's first commercial-scale floating offshore windfarm in North East Scotland. Up to 40 direct jobs will be based at Green Volt’s new HQ in the Granite City, which is expected to trigger around £2.5bn of investment and deliver 2,800 jobs.   Nicol Stephen, Chief Executive of Flotation Energy said: “Green Volt is a trailblazing, multibillion pound floating offshore wind project which will kickstart jobs and investment by companies right across the UK offshore supply chain. The choice of our HQ in Aberdeen is clear evidence of our strong commitment to support local jobs and businesses wherever possible.”   Aberdeen was selected for its world-renowned expertise, innovation and its status as home to the largest concentration of subsea supply chain companies in Europe, making it a natural choice for this key energy infrastructure project.   The news comes as 10 Downing Street announces thousands of jobs across the green industries, welcoming more than £24 billion of private investment for pioneering energy projects, including Green Volt, ahead next week’s International Investment Summit.   For more information, see https://lnkd.in/eDTX6pnp RenewableUK, Scottish Renewables, Energy Transition Zone Ltd, Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce, Invest Aberdeen

Finally, some good news for Aberdeen, after the sadness of O&G operator’s, being effectively forced to stop UK projects due to Tax implications. The Government needs to start listening. The Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce, said it brilliantly in regards to that of Tesco, contrasting the profit and tax between the sectors.
