🌿 Reflecting on Balance: Honouring Our Ancestors' Wisdom 🌟 In today's fast-paced world, losing sight of the values that truly ground us is easy. As I navigate the journey of life and my work at Flower In The Wind Therapy, I often find solace in the teachings of Opikinawasowin, the "child rearing way" rooted deeply in Cree and Métis traditions. This framework isn’t just about raising children; it’s about nurturing spirits and fostering community ties that ensure our cultural roots remain strong. Incorporating these traditional teachings into therapy has been transformative. They remind us of who we are and where we come from, providing a compass in uncertain times. 🌿 Balancing my roles—between contracts, private practice, in Flower In The Wind Therapy—requires intention and respect for these teachings. It's a dance of honouring the past while embracing the present, ensuring the wisdom of our ancestors guides future generations. 🌟 How do you incorporate traditional teachings into your daily life? I'd love to hear your thoughts and stories. Let's honour our roots together. 🌿 #flowerinthewindtherapy #indigenoustherapist #mentalwellness #indigenouswellness #IndigenousWisdom #MetisValues #CreeTeachings #CulturalContinuity --- Samaria Nancy Cardinal Owner & Lead Indigenous Therapy Specialist Flower In The Wind Therapy 🌬️ --- Feel free to reach out for a 15-minute consultation or connect to learn more about our culturally competent therapeutic approaches. In every adoption narrative lies a silence—an unacknowledged wound. Beneath the facade of joy and rescue, deeper truths of trauma and separation linger, much like the displaced voices in today’s global crises. As families are torn apart by war and systemic injustice, adoptees navigate a labyrinth of grief, often unheard amidst the clamor of "happy endings." Our silence mirrors the complicity seen in geopolitical conflicts, where the struggles of marginalized communities remain ignored. Will we confront these truths and amplify the voices that demand recognition? Or will we continue to look away? #AdoptionTruths #AdopteeVoices #GlobalJustice

Get this right in the first 3 years of their lives. This is the advice from Dr. Gabor Mate. Watch this video and focus on the innate biological and emotional need of our kids to feel attachment with their parents. Withdrawing, not coming to them when they need us, not letting them express emotions - all these are unhealthy for our kids. The more we are attached and nurturing our relationships with our kids, the better they can learn, grow, and become healthy adults. Nurturing relationships with out kids keeps them healthy. Let's do this! #attachment #Nurturing #relationships #needs #Relational #parenting #masterfulparenting #parents #parentingadvice #parentcoach #Help

In today’s fast-paced world, it can be challenging for women to prioritize their spiritual growth and physical health amidst countless demands. That’s why I created SoulStrength Fit - to make daily Bible study and healthy living attainable for all women. Now, we’re excited to bring this program to churches, offering a resource that allows members to flourish not only spiritually but physically as well. Living the abundant life that God desires for us includes living in abundant health, nurturing our bodies, minds, and souls. This program is designed to provide the tools women need to stay consistent with daily Bible study, regular exercise, and healthy eating. But it doesn’t stop there. By incorporating it into a small group format, we’re strengthening women’s ministries in ways that bring lasting impact. Imagine your church’s women’s ministry coming together, encouraging each other, and growing in faith and health as one. Bring this to your church and watch as your congregation grows stronger from the inside out. Together, let’s help women live fully, honoring God with their lives and well-being. If you’re interested in learning how this program could bless and strengthen your church community, let’s connect—I’d love to share more about how it can be a unique addition to your women’s ministry. 🙏

For this year's #GivingTuesday, we wanted to try out "Giving Back" Tuesday through our first-ever art contest with prizes for the top 3 submissions! 🎨 Loneliness has become an ever-growing epidemic that we can't ignore anymore, and data shows that loneliness brings about several negative physical and mental health outcomes. And at PostScript, we have been working to combat this issue by cultivating relationships for those experiencing loneliness through art, fellowship, friendship and more! One way that we are hoping to spread the word on this growing epidemic is by hosting an art contest for 7th- 12th graders in the Triangle area and beyond this holiday season! 🎄 There is no cost to enter and artwork submitted to the contest must show and answer the following two questions: ❓ What does LONELINESS look like to you? ❓ What could you do to connect with others who appear lonely? As we mentioned above, we’re offering an incentive to all participants: 🥇 1st place-$1,500 🥈 2nd place-$1,000 🥉 3rd place-$500 We hope that this contest can bring a greater awareness of the impact of loneliness in our communities. Get all the details and submit your art at the link below. https://lnkd.in/ergzX-_d #GivingTuesdaycampaign #givingback #giveback

The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) has announced funding for nine inspiring projects that use arts and culture to address vital issues like social connection, belonging, and mental health. Each organization will receive a $150,000 grant, totaling $1.35 million in funding! 🙌 We're thrilled to see Oregon-based Open Signal among the grantees! They’ll be working with community youth to create media production workshops focused on mental health issues — amplifying young voices and fostering connection through creativity. 🎥✨

In our first pre-conference session, which held on Saturday, we embarked on a journey to address some of the most pressing challenges in Ebonyi. The focus was on "Bridging The Mind Gap". We discussed the impact of unhealthy stereotypes, the harsh realities of child marriage, and the barriers posed by poor access to quality education and the multi-dimensions of poverty But we didn't stop at identifying problems—we envisioned some solutions. Picture this: - Mental Emancipation: Freeing our minds from limiting beliefs and unhealthy stereotypes. - Quality Early Childhood Education - Skill Acquisition: Youths gaining practical skills to thrive in their careers. - Community Leadership: Young people stepping up to influence policies, fight against child marriage in the state. - Media Mavericks: Using media to tell our stories and reshape our self-image. - Grassroots Campaigns: Boosting self-esteem and self-worth at the community level. These solutions are more than ideas—they are the blueprint for bridging the mind gap in Ebonyi. Did you miss this conversation? We are excited to let you know that there are more on the way packaged for you! Now, we're inviting you to be a part of this exciting journey. Dive deeper into these discussions, share your thoughts, and contribute to a brighter future in Ebonyi State.
