Great to be part of this study, producing the targets (SOS1, SHP2), along with our active, stable, Cereblon/DDB1 degrader complex. Access the poster to read how these were used in SPR to identify SOS1 glues which were then screened against SHP2. https://lnkd.in/eCMdfy79
At Sygnature Discovery, we are developing novel approaches for the discovery of molecular glue degraders. This poster highlights the use of surface plasmon resonance (SPR) for the identification of molecular glues from compound libraries. We have demonstrated this approach by screening 10,000 lead-like compounds and 1,300 fragments for glue properties, using the Cereblon ubiquitin ligase and SOS1 and SHP2 proteins, as a model system. Dr Roland Hjerpe, our Senior Principal Scientist – IPT, is attending the Protein Degradation in Focus event at the University of Dundee this weekend, presenting our latest research in molecular glues. Can’t make the event? Download a digital version of the poster here:https://lnkd.in/eCMdfy79 #molecularglue #hitidentification #targetedproteindegradation #drugdiscovery

Researchers at DTU and Lund University have discovered enzymes that remove hindrances that stood in the way of developing universal donor blood. When mixed with red blood cells, the enzymes are able to remove specific sugars that make up the A and B antigens in the human ABO blood groups. "Our focus is now to investigate in detail if there are additional obstacles and how we can improve our enzymes to reach the ultimate goal of universal blood production," says Professor Maher Abou Hachem, who is one of the senior scientists behind the discovery. The discovery is the result of combining the expertise of DTU researchers in enzymes from the human gut microbiota and Lund University researchers in carbohydrate-based blood groups and transfusion medicine.
