www.spiritsinvest.com Even though many can debate about the taste of Johnnie Walker whiskies, but according to the empirical data of Kantar Johnnie Walker has entered the top five most valuable UK brands for the first time in 2023 (https://lnkd.in/gHSBNfEu) 🏆. Eventually all whiskies can make you drunk at the end of the day. Branding matters though! Whereas the spirits market is struggling (as we speak), based on our own data, the very 1st edition of the Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost & Rare Series is an exception among the heterogeneous group of whiskies. The Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost & Rare 75cl (🇺🇸 release) has never stopped climbing since 2020📈. In 2023 it increased 14.29% and year-to-date in 2024 it has continued the journey with another 8.33%. I can bet that not many know how it tastes, but the box and bottle do look fancy! 😍🤩 What are your thoughts about whisky invest/collecting? 🤩 #spiritsinvest #whisky #whiskyinvestor #liquidgold #scotchwhisky #whiskyindex #whiskydata #whiskyinvest #whiskycollector #branding #johnniewalker #diageo

Fruity Names: A Peel-ing Or Over The Top? We've recently noticed an explosion of branded produce - and given that they don't typically have much packaging, the main way this branding shows up is by creating named brands, like the little citruses called "Cuties." Check out this #tellthetruths video for some examples, but also, we'd really love to hear it if you've spotted any of these in the wilds of your local supermarket. #brandtrue #naming #brandnaming #captioned

🌍Have you heard about the Geographical Indication labelling scheme? You may know about the exclusivity of "Champagne" or, something closer to home, "Scotch Whisky" - this label assures the customer that the product they are purchasing is of legitimate quality. This can be particularly beneficial for producers, as it elevates commercial value. But what is the eligibility criteria? Read Kenneth MacLeod's latest feature in The Scotsman to find out the answer to any questions you may have 🥃

The craft spirits industry is experiencing unprecedented growth, with more distilleries producing exceptional products than ever before. However, this success comes with unique challenges, particularly in the realm of direct-to-consumer (DTC) shipping. While wineries benefit from DTC shipping in 47 states, distilleries currently have access to this opportunity in only 8 states and D.C. This creates a gap between the innovation happening in craft distilling and the ability for consumers to easily access these products. Our consulting agency is here to help you navigate the complexities of distribution and regulation. Let’s tackle them together and find the best path forward for your brand. #CraftSpirits #DistributionStrategy #RegulatoryGuidance #SpiritsIndustry #BusinessGrowth #BeverageConsulting

I had the most interesting conversation with a fisherwoman who occasionally lives aboard her vessel with her family. She alternates her time between fishing, turning a wrench, marketing local seafood at farmers markets and with shopkeepers, and raising her brood of little ones. We often talk about the opportunities and challenges of improving markets for domestic seafood. More recently, I’ve been offering advice as she works on building a micro-cannery to increase shoreside access for her local fishing community, helping fisherman improve the value of their often-undervalued catch. For those less familiar, while the art of seafood canning was commercialized in California, it has largely become a bygone era, with most of the capacity moving offshore—primarily to Asia (cheap labor) and Latin America due to the Andean Trade Act. What remains is a scarcity of canneries that provide critical services to vessel owners, services that have become even more essential as venture-capital-backed, unscalable schemes have pushed out smallholders and made conditions measurably worse. What struck me most during my recent conversation with her was her reflection on feeling “used.” The now fractured (lawsuit) Founders of Fishwife apparently approached her for advice about launching their product. They took her best insights and then disappeared, offering nothing in return. Talk about a missed opportunity to gain authenticity and legitimacy—imagine inviting a true fisherwoman, a bona fide “FishWife,” into your enterprise instead of running an inauthentic operation and absconding with the intellectual capital of people just trying to make it. I’ve seen a lot over the years, but this brand truly surprises me. #fishwife #badactor #unethical #accountability #seafood #sustainableseafood #impact
