COLLECTIONS: Carefully Curated Content https://lnkd.in/egnpyHfD Collections are a new way we're beginning to organize some of the sermon content. You can think of it as carefully curated content—consisting of sermons, videos, series, speakers, broadcasters—on any given topic. As we enter into the election season here in the USA, it would be good for us to keep our focus on what is important. AMERICA COLLECTION: https://lnkd.in/eYckNSJ6

Without entertaining, it's impossible to attract attention. But if you optimise every form of media (including news and education) for entertainment here's what you get: Surface level thinking, shallow storytelling and people talking past each other. The result: The corrosion of the mind, the rise of false prophets and the destruction of public discourse. We all created this...and we can do much better.

The 2nd edition of my weekly newsletter. (secretly hoping to continue this streak) In this one, I go down memory lane to when I was binging on the IMDB top 250 movie lists for days together, aware of them being 'copied' (a milder word for pirated) but not guilty about it. I wanted to explore how it has shaped our content consumption habits. The complete version here: https://lnkd.in/gkJ5ssn9

My editing team thought that was a great hook lol... But in all seriousness, we will all at some point in our lives in our relationships get into arguments with the people we care about. There's 3 powerfully simple steps I would take to help diffuse the situation and move towards a resolution. 1. Acknowledge the emotions of the other person 2. Clarify the problem 3. Explore solutions together And a BONUS tip for repairing relationships from arguments is to be careful not to use "YOU" statements, and use "I" statements instead. For example instead of saying "YOU made me feel upset when you did that" you can say "I felt angry upset when you did that" This approach allows the other person not to feel attacked and get defensive, which is necessary to achieve a mutual understanding and resolve arguments more gracefully. Save this video if it helped!!
