The FNQ Procurement Summit was a great success with 39 council delegates, 10 suppliers and sponsors and a full day program featuring guest speakers from across the procurement sector. Our next major event will be an exciting conference in Brisbane over two days on the 8th - 9th August. Local Buy continues to grow with over 450 suppliers applying to join our Arrangements during February. The European Commission has published the timeline for the evaluation of the EU Public Procurement Directives for the non-defence sectors: https://lnkd.in/gWK6A79X The aim is to assess whether over the past ten years the 2014 Directives have achieved their objectives in terms of fostering fair competition, simplifying procurement processes and achieving strategic goals (including innovation procurement). The call for evidence and public consultation is planned to be published in the coming weeks (Q4 2024). The Commission counts on public buyers, businesses, trade unions and civil society to contribute to the consultation process.
