Sometimes there are days at a startup that feel transcendent - when you can stop for a second and say "wow - look at this very special business that we're building". Today was one of those days. A few months ago, inspired by two Fora Advisors in our community, Karen Morales and Judy Tudor, we decided to launch a dedicated accessible travel program to better serve the needs of travelers with accessibility requirements. We wanted to create a home for advisors with expertise in this travel segment - complete with a specialized training program, live mentorship and dedicated community chat. And today, Fora Advisor Karen Morales was live on KPIX | CBS San Francisco/Bay Area talking about her adventurous travel experiences around the world as a wheelchair user and how Fora helps make this a reality for her clients, too. I'm so proud of the amazing work Fora Travel and our community is doing to empower travel entrepreneurs and make travel more inclusive.

If you have ever spent time with me out and about you know I like connecting and getting to know new people. On Sunday I traveled down to the St. Pete area for work and while watching my beloved Buffalo Bills I met some locals who are in their 70s. That may be an odd descriptor to include, however, it is relevant to this story. I was invited to come back to the same beach bar last night to join them for Trivia Night. What I experienced last night was a moment that highlights exactly why senior living communities are an incredible living option. There were drinks, there were laughs, there was brain power (recalling history, films, music, and more), and most importantly there were connections. Many of the people in attendance have been going to this Trivia Night for many years. For some people it is trivia that brought them together and now they are close friends. Many look out for one another in different ways from tech support to daily check-ins. What I observed was senior living without walls. Does this put us out of business? No. It gives us opportunity. It supports that what we offer is desired. Here is another opportunity....number one question asked of me this week by many of my new friends...."What's it really like in one of those places?" Simple to answer...."Look around at what we are doing right now." Senior Living Engagement peers.....TRIVIA NIGHT IS WHERE IT'S AT! Get a professional to come in and facilitate it. Tell Sales and Marketing so they can include prospects. Tell residents to invite their friends. Tell Dining to have a fun drink special (and yes charge for those drinks). Boost your brain, boost your bonds, boost your brand, boost your bottom line. I'll step off my soapbox now. But only for a moment. Tipping Culture Perspective In many countries, tipping is not just a custom but an expectation. Delivery personnel, waiters, and service staff often rely on tips as a significant part of their income. However, to those who expect tips, it is important to consider the diverse backgrounds of the people you serve. Visitors to your country may come from places like, where tipping culture is different and often less emphasized. These travellers might already be spending a significant portion of their savings to explore and experience the world. In addition to this, they may come from a system where the financial burdens are heavier: 🏥 Healthcare is not free: Medical expenses can be a significant drain on personal finances. 📖 Education is not free: Families often spend a substantial amount on schooling and higher education.  🌇 Limited free facilities: Many services that are free in your country might come with a cost in theirs. It’s not that they don’t value good service or wish to show their gratitude. Sometimes, it’s a matter of survival, of balancing the beauty of experiencing the world with the harsh realities of their financial limits. So, before we judge someone for not tipping, let’s take a moment to extend empathy, not expectation. Showing visitors rude behaviour if they have not given a tip is not good; it diminishes the spirit of hospitality and kindness that makes any culture memorable. Let’s recognize that kindness isn’t measured by the amount left on a table but by the understanding we offer one another. To the visitors: Your journey, your sacrifices, and your courage to explore a new world deserve acknowledgment. And to those serving them: Your hospitality, your patience, and your grace are what make these journeys unforgettable. In a world that often divides us, let tipping—or the lack of it—be an opportunity to connect, to see beyond the surface, and to touch each other’s lives with compassion. #tip #tips #tipping

2025 𝗠𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝗜𝗧 𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗡 I’ve always taken agency’s goal-setting retreats seriously because they have been pivotal in shaping our vision and direction. This year, with my new LIT Team, we embraced Tabula Rasa—a clean slate—encouraging us to adapt and refresh our approach. It was truly invigorating. Although I joined mid-trip after my personal Harbin/Beijing adventure, I immediately felt the strong, close-knit culture of LIT. The team’s camaraderie and support were palpable, and it reinforced my sense of belonging. Experiencing a different side of life with my colleagues even included an unexpected visit to a local gay club. Taipei also holds a special significance for me. It was my destination just before I entered the business, accompanied by the ex-colleague who introduced me to this career. I fondly remember those early days, including my first QCE incentive trip—Taipei truly symbolizes the start of my journey in financial services. One key takeaway from this retreat was the importance of the space between stimulus and response—learning to pause and think before reacting. I believe mastering this will propel us to new heights. This is some thing I will deliberately be working on this year. For 2025, I’m stepping out of my comfort zone by publicly sharing my goals because I believe in the power of manifestation: • Onboard 3 new teammates with AFSM promotion • Achieve COT with 50 new clients • Complete a body composition photoshoot before my birthday Together, we can drive the positive change the financial services industry needs, providing sound, genuine advice to all. There are hard things going on in the world right now (when are there not?) which makes rest and recuperation more important than ever, especially for those of us actively working towards equity, inclusion, justice and healing. In this context, our first ever now to be annual CCI team retreat felt... quietly radical and itself a step, an action, towards undoing our socialization into oppressive systems.
