🌍 Urban Technology Alliance is proud to announce its participation as an official collaborating organization at the upcoming Smart City Expo World Congress 2024 🏙️, 5-7 November, Barcelona. During these 3 days, UTA will host a booth alongside some of its members, including Kentyou, Latitudo 40, RealSim, Nagoya University, and others. Together, we will showcase a diverse range of recent and ongoing initiatives and projects. This collaborative space will provide an excellent platform for our members to present their innovative work in areas such as:  🚗 mobility,  🚦 road safety,  🏙️ 3D digital twins,  🌡️ AI-based urban heat island modeling, and more. ✨ A Highlight of the Expo: The UTA Agora Event on November 6: "NetZero Cities: Public Transportation and Personal Mobility" 🌱 The Agora event, hosted by UTA in collaboration with the Smart City Institute Japan, will discuss the topic "NetZero Cities: Public Transportation and Personal Mobility." It will bring together leading cities and experts to explore the role of sustainable transportation in achieving NetZero goals 🌿. The session will feature cities such as Utsunomiya (Japan), which recently completed a NetZero LRT system 🚋, and Grenoble-Alpes Métropole (France) 🇫🇷, a leader in reimagining its transportation network as part of a broader sustainability initiative 🚉. Smart Cities Expo 2023 The Smart Cities Expo 2023 in Barcelona (Spain) aimed to explore and showcase innovative solutions for urban development and sustainability. The event focused on promoting the integration of technology, data, and smart infrastructure to enhance urban living. Key objectives included fostering collaboration between government, industry, and academia, addressing urban challenges such as mobility, energy efficiency, and climate resilience, and exploring how smart city technologies can improve quality of life, economic growth, and environmental sustainability. The expo also provided a platform for sharing best practices and cutting-edge innovations in smart city development. Avia-GIS (Guy Hendrickx) was present at the expo with a booth showcasing how the combined use of VECMAP and VECTRACK can help monitor and therefore mitigate the risk of mosquito-transmitted diseases in urban areas, with a specific reference of potentially increased risk in greener parts of the city.
