TYCTWD is not about the snacks. For the first time, I didn't plan Take Your Child to Work Day on behalf of a company for other people's kids. Those days were fun and many snacks were eaten, yet learning was sparse. Today was all about my kids and immersing them in the world of their entrepreneurial parents. 6:30am - morning walk because we prioritize health (and coffee) 7:30am - make breakfast, clean, prep for the day because unpaid work is work 9:00am - doctors appointments because we blend work and life 11:00am - meet contractors from around the globe who are helping daddy build an incredible business; learn about project management 12:00pm - working lunch on the deck; discover core values and our love languages 1:30pm - create a family mission statement (coming soon), set individual goals 3:00pm - understand mommy's business, hear testimonials of mommy's work, learn the importance of networking 3:30pm - meet some HR pro's; practice introducing ourselves to strangers 6:00pm - celebration dinner (with a pop quiz to make sure they got it all!) Grateful beyond words to have the flexibility to spend the day like this, to have curious kids who genuinely seemed interested, and a partner in all entrepreneurial and co-parenting endeavors, Pete Turok. Flexibility is worth fighting for. #tyctwd #tyctwd2024 #byctwd
