Our scheduled talks are now taking shape. for Ireland, the UK, and the US. https://lnkd.in/epBeXP2z Mr. Mahmoud Abbas presented an eloquent speech at the UNGA and got applauded. Thanks to whoever is his speech writer. By contrast, war criminal and genocide lord Netanyahu was almost a persona non grata at the UN. Most delegates of countries chose not to attend or walked out as he walked in (he had brought a few racist Zionists to attend as audience and to cheer him). But these are side shows to an ongoing GENOCIDE. We live in a world where only strength seems understood and the UN has become a hollow chamber where politicians meet to state their positions and the US and great powers continue supporting genocide. Only thing challenging them is non-state actors (guerrilla forces/liberation movements). Abbas will need to do something different than what he was willing to do for the past 15 years: 1) end corruption (starting with his office then the foreign service then down the line, 2) stop hanging on to the golden chair and to the illusion of Oslo, 3) really implement reconciliation and joint work with Ha.mas and other resistance forces. That would mean no longer holding on to a dictatorial role of deciding the future of the Palestinian struggle by himself while promoting the most incompetent and corrupt people to positions of power. Democracy and transparency are non-negotiable. Here is an article I wrote about "A Path Forward" in Z Magazine https://lnkd.in/ea-TS4Na and another on The Importance of Urban Eco-gardens for Biodiversity and Human Sustainability: A Case Study from Palestine https://lnkd.in/eAaYetts And I just noted this paper published a while ago that I had never mentioned or listed in our publications: Arab American Activism for Palestine. Pp. 279-294 in “Diaspora and Identity: the case of Palestine” (Mitri Raheb, ed.). Diyar Publisher, Bethlehem. https://lnkd.in/en5_6caZ Protecting nature in Palestine https://lnkd.in/eAJpQJp2 https://www.het grote midden oosten https://lnkd.in/e9DFD4Ey This is Zionism, this is "Israel" https://lnkd.in/evQiKziH Israel shut down Al-Jazeera offices and ripped off pictures of its reporter (US citizen) Shireen Abu Aqla and continues to help the Saudi "AlArabiya" channel spout Zionist propaganda https://lnkd.in/eagM7nVr Matt Nelson just died after setting himself on fire (third person to do so to protest US support of genocide). https://lnkd.in/eFdC5rrB Stay Human and keep Palestine alive

The European Heritage Days are the most widely celebrated participatory cultural event shared by the people of Europe. The Council of Europe launched the initiative in 1985, and in 1999 was joined by the European Union to create the joint action, which has continued up to the present day. Conceivably, the Programme, which can boast up to 20 million visitors every year, generates the greatest value, Euro for Euro, of any “European” cultural project. Held in September each year, EHD events – often called Heritage Open Days - take place in the countries party to the European Cultural Convention. The aims of the European Heritage Days are to: - raise the awareness of European citizens to the richness and cultural diversity of Europe - create a climate in which the appreciation of the rich mosaic of European cultures is stimulated - counter racism and xenophobia and encourage greater tolerance in Europe and beyond the national borders - inform the public and the political authorities about the need to protect cultural heritage against new threats - invite Europe to respond to the social, political and economic challenges it faces #formicals #teknikkimya #europeanheritagedays #europe #heritagedays

It is interesting to see how member states are moving forward with ratifying and implementing the UNESCO2005 Convention Protection and Promotion of Diversity of Cultural Expression. This convention sets up a mandate for member states not just to promote the protection of diversity, inclusion, and artistic expression but also to make a case for holistic sustainable development. Nepal is on the verge of ratifying it and implementing it very soon. https://lnkd.in/gcKVxQuM

Penny Wong's Indian Ocean conference keynote address is now available: "Rather than a closed, hierarchical region, we want a region characterised by openness and transparency. A region that prioritises: the resilience and autonomy of regional countries; the maintenance of regional peace and stability; and adherence to international law and agreed rules and norms, where all countries’ sovereignty is respected. This vision for our region is grounded in sovereignty. Sovereignty, at a fundamental level, is about being able to make your own decisions, and shape your own future. Sovereignty might be exercised alone but it is best assured when we are working together. Because none of us can achieve a region with the attributes I am describing by ourselves. We can only achieve this region if we all work together and all contribute to strategic balance." https://lnkd.in/g_XBGAJT

KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN UK, ENGLAND 🏴, GREAT BRITAIN 🇬🇧. Most people and indeed all over the world, including well travelled, often confuse England 🏴, United Kingdom and Great Britain🇬🇧. England 🏴 is a country just like Nigeria 🇳🇬 and its capital is London just like Abuja is the capital of Nigeria. Great Britain 🇬🇧 is a collection of 3 countries which came together as one country and has its capital as London. Those 3 countries are: 1. England 🏴 2. Scotland 🏴 3. Wales 🏴 When you include Northern Ireland 🇬🇬 to these 3 countries, they become United Kingdom (Union of four nations) 1. England 🏴 2. Scotland 🏴 3. Wales 🏴, and 4. Northern Ireland 🇬🇬 That is why it is referred to as the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Collectively, the four are taken as one country. And when this is the case, London is its capital. Note however that these four individual nations all have their own respective capitals. Accordingly, the capital of Scotland 🏴 is Edinburgh, Wales 🏴 is Cardiff, Northern Ireland 🇬🇬 is Belfast, England 🏴 is London. England 🏴- The largest of the four countries, known for its rich history, diverse landscapes, and cultural landmarks such as Stonehenge and the Tower of London. Scotland 🏴- A country with a strong cultural identity, characterized by stunning landscapes such as the Scottish Highlands, and known for its whisky, golf, and historic landmarks like Edinburgh Castle. Wales 🏴- A country known for its stunning landscapes, including the Snowdonia National Park, and rich cultural heritage such as its distinctive language and Celtic traditions. Northern Ireland 🇬🇬- Located on the island of Ireland, is part of the UK, but not Great Britain. #Copied Class dismissed🎊🎊🎊 If you learn something here, appreciate by 👍
