One of REPOXYBLE functionalities within our multi functional approach is the #SmartManufacturing. #REPOXYBLE will use #infrared heating to enhance the fast curing of our resin. IR is an emerging curing technology for composites due to its high energy efficiency, predictable heating rate (the temperature change in unit time), and volumetric heating mechanism. While mostly used for heating thermomplastic materials, REPOXYBLE uses it for thermosets, dopping our resin with inorganic particles to promote the absorption rate of IR. REPOXYBLE will adopt an optimization routine for transfer learning between simulation and experimental data. Using process simulations, REPOXYBLE will use a data driven approach based on transfer learning to not only transfer domain knowledge from simulation to the real process but rather between process data, generating a sort of digital twin for the curing process of our demonstrators. #REPOXYBLE #SmartManufacturing #Multifunctionality #TransferLearning #HorizonEurope #IR #IRCuring #ThermosetsInnovation Avanzare Innovación Tecnológica | GAIKER Centro Tecnológico | ONYRIQ | University of Patras | University of Ljubljana | Distretto Aerospaziale della Campania - DAC | OMI - Officine Meccaniche Irpine | Universität für Bodenkultur Wien | Airi - Associazione Italiana per la Ricerca Industriale | SATURNTECH | Universitat de Girona | TEMAS Solutions | Riversimple | Gurit | University of Southampton | Aerogel Core Ltd

Ilkay Özkisaoglu, Co-Founder of Composites Lounge asks Alexander Chaloupka, CTO of sensXPERT what the moment was that it became clear to him that material characterization could be taken a step further? Alexander, during his tenure at Fraunhofer, was diving deep into material characterization with different equipment and different technologies. He says "... I was looking into different parameters of material". This is when he created a vision that there must be a way of creating the same information within the manufacturing, based on different sensor technologies, to really bridge the gap and to bring the two worlds together. Listen in this #Replay what challenges he had to overcome with the mindset of many experts "... based on the results I have generated at the same time, I could see there is no match between what the experts have told me that it's not possible and the experience I have gained and the knowledge I have gained so far, and that that drove me forward" Which is why he paved his own way. You will hear more about "specific algorithms to generate new information out of measuring or measurement data from the manufacturing" and "...that was when it was clear to me that I shouldn't just listen to the experts that are there that have done things so many years." Join this truly inspiring interview, where many of you, working in the engineering space will surely relate to. Also, please listen to the product that was presented during JEC World 2024 by Alexander. Any questions? Contact Alexander or his Team on LinkedIn!

Excited to share the work we presented at the International Conference on Electrical Machines (ICEM) 2024 in Turin! Our research, conducted at the Department of Industrial and Information Engineering and Economics of L'Aquila, explores how synchronous reluctance motors (SynRMs) can make a quantum leap in performance, rivaling that of permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs)—without relying on rare earth materials. By leveraging additive manufacturing and machine learning, we’ve unlocked new possibilities for SynRMs, enabling higher performance while promoting sustainability. This breakthrough aligns perfectly with the principles of a circular economy, reducing dependency on scarce resources and improving recyclability. A big step forward for both innovation and environmental responsibility! A special thanks to Professor Emeritus Enzo Chiricozzi, co-author of this work, for his invaluable contribution. #ICEM2024 #SustainableTechnology #AdditiveManufacturing #MachineLearning #CircularEconomy #ElectricMotors #Univaq #PoliTO
