The interoperability of mobile payment solutions in southern Europe becomes a reality with the creation of EuroPA | European Payments Alliance 🇪🇺 The launch of EuroPA represents the first step towards interoperability between +45 million users of #MBWAY from SIBS in 🇵🇹 ; Bizum in 🇪🇸 ; and BANCOMAT S.p.A. in 🇮🇹 ; as well as more than 182 financial institutions. This is expected to be made widely available from 2025 mostly starting from Italy, Portugal, and Spain, with the overall aim to expand across the region of Europe in the future.
Yesterday, SIBS' participation in the Web Summit Lisbon was marked by a big announcement: the launch of EuroPA - European Payments Alliance with the first international #MBWAY transfer! 📲🌍 Mobile payments are becoming an integral part of Europeans' daily lives. To facilitate this, SIBS united #MBWAY, #BancomatPay, and #Bizum to enable service interoperability, simplifying instant payments between the three countries. This launch is the first step towards interoperability for over 45 million users and 182 financial institutions.
