🚀 Chalmers Ventures invests in research-based Ambidex - based on over seven years of research from Chalmers University of Technology. 😬 Problem: The stability of the power grid is crucial to meet society's energy needs and enable the transition to renewable energy sources like wind and solar power, as these sources are weather-dependent and cause variations in electricity production. This requires flexible solutions that can balance supply and demand in real-time. Traditionally, large batteries are used to manage these fluctuations. 😎 Solution: Ambidex offers a smarter alternative: by using existing cooling systems, such as those in grocery stores, the power grid can be stabilized without the need for new infrastructure. The technology allows for adjusting the energy consumption of cooling systems in real-time to balance the load on the power grid without affecting their primary function. 🌟 Potential: Ambidex shares the revenue from flexibility services with the connected stores. 🌍🔋 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗛.𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗗 Program Green hydrogen holds tremendous potential, but many questions remain regarding efficient production and integration. This is where the 𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗦𝗧 𝗵𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 steps in, an excellent cross-border initiative led by FH Münster. The project brings together 17 project and associated partners from the TECH.LAND Program, including Hogeschool Saxion and the University of Twente. The aim of the project is to develop an advanced, software-based toolbox for the detailed design of electrolysers and economic planning. This will help industrial planners minimize costly mistakes and accelerate hydrogen adoption. By simulating various electrolysis processes, the tool provides insights into complex scenarios, helping optimize production processes and anticipate future cost differences compared to fossil fuels. With partners such as BEN-Tec GmbH, Powerspex Simulator GmbH, HyGear, Pondera, and strategic institutions like Oost NL and the NWBA, BOOST demonstrates how diverse expertise and cross-border collaboration can foster innovation. Rushnu was one of 10 #cleantech startups that graduated from mHUB's 2024 Climate and EnergyTech Accelerator in April. Rushnu's technology inputs CO2 from dilute emission sources, rapidly mineralizes the CO2, and concurrently generates valuable by-product chemicals. Rushnu's process uses less than a third of the energy of competing technologies, which significantly decreases the carbon penalty and the capital / operating costs of the process.
