The number of attempts for the JEE Advanced has been increased from two to three from 2025 In my opinion, this is a bad decision Students will now waste one more year for the rat race! I support the idea of students using their skills to start earning, rather than focusing solely on academics. Multiple attempts at exams will add more pressure and coaching institutes will likely frame it as a wise choice. India is evolving, just backwards! #JEE #IIT #NTA #Engineering

I find value in criticism, and criticism is warranted here. Nevertheless, I cannot deny the fact that my household income from when I decided to study for the JEE till today has multiplied by a factor of 25, in a matter of 13 years, most of which is part of foreign money coming to India. One cannot blame the Indian government for building a system wherein they bring in folks like me, let us play a game of proving our intellectual capacity, and get the reward of a four year education, from professors and peer group alike, as a reward. It is very easy to criticise the JEE, it is very hard to build an objective system that guarantees that we get the best prospective engineers in India in the same place. JEE is not that objective system, but it serves a purpose. The alumni network of IITs has proved that the funding that goes into IITs has multiplied the GDP of India manifold. To think of what is a good investment for the country, with a 50 year horizon, is very hard. Yes, the ivy leagues can afford to have a holistic process for admission, but unfortunately, the IITs today cannot. We do not have the luxury for it. And till we do not, I am happy with JEE as it exists.
Ved scored the highest in 64yrs of IIT JEE with a 355/360 ranking #1 of 1M+. Happy for him, but what's the point of this kind of education system? This learning is not remotely curiosity-driven. Teacher said study X, I studied X. I wanted marks, got marks. Nothing unnecessary. Source: https://lnkd.in/gjm-q-uP
