Have I lost the dedication I had when I prepared for IIT JEE? Getting into this NIT by cracking IIT JEE was a big achievement and took a lot of hard work. But during my first year here, I've noticed a change. Back then, I barely slept, always trying to study more. Now, sleeping 7-8 hours feels like a normal/less sleep. I used to feel guilty if I slept for just 6.5 hours! Teachers used to say,"If you are sleeping more than 6 hrs you are in luxury, you are not preparing for IIT JEE" I expected intense competition here, On my day one I thought Survival will be very difficult here😅 as the person sitting infront of me,back of me all have similar intelligence, all are toppers of their locality. Many have a better AIR than me. But it’s not as tough as I thought it would be.(though I have found intelligent, mind-blowing, competitive minds and hardworking people here which was obvious) Is this normal? Have we lost our drive, or is this just how it is after an exam like JEE? #IIT #IITJEE #dedication #NIT #reflection

It's been almost 7 years since I gave JEE, I failed to crack it the first time, and took a drop year. I cracked it the second time, but was still not satisfied with the University I got. This is a reminder to the few hundred thousands students out there giving JEE, BITSAT, VITEEE, SRMJEE etc. Almost 14 lakh Indian students took the JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) this year. For those who are thinking a rank is going to decide your future, in the long run, what matters is whether you gave your best or not. Get into any college, learn life skills, learn living in a different city, learn becoming friends with people of different cultures & languages, learn from seniors and their stories, learn adapting and learning on the go. The system tries to box you into a Race at this point in time, but in real life you run your own race trying to be a better self everyday! Students are the ones that build these Universities and their Brand names, not the other way around. This is probably one of the toughest phases in life. I promise, after this phase you can achieve anything, if you think you can. Good luck! Work smart, work hard! If anyone in your family is in this phase, they need your support, guidance and positivity 💜 Have you given the JEE or other Engineering entrances? Do you think it helped you shape your perspective in life?
