VoltSafe Inc. is on FrontFundr! VoltSafe is changing the way people connect to electricity by eliminating prongs and using magnets and an “electrical fingerprint”. ⚡ 💡 In 2018, they pitched on Dragons’ Den, receiving three offers above asking. They also went on to win the BC Cleantech Newcomer award at GLOBE Cleantech 2020. In 2023, VoltSafe won TWO CES Innovation Awards for its Marine and Home applications. Here are some other highlights: 🚀 Rapid Growth and Traction: After leaping over the biggest hurdle of safety certification, in just a couple of years, they have matured the technology and gained incredible attention from numerous speaking engagement invitations to winning 9 industry-related awards. They have received plenty of backing through multiple grants, and have raised over $6 million to date, including over $500k from over 200 retail investors like you. ⚙️ Multiple Revenue Streams: The technology is adaptable to any high-power electricity gate application. With strong patents, they are able to commercialize themselves and license the technology out to partners. Additionally, their software can generate recurring revenue. 🔌 Patented Technology: They have the first prongless connector with exposed contacts to be safety-certificated. They have 8 utility patents granted (including 2 in the US), have filed utility patents in 40+ countries, and have received trademarks in US & Canada. Ready to learn more about VoltSafe? What value can FlexMeasures add to your energy services? And more importantly here: How would a software developer realize an integration? The recent talk at #fosdem2024 by Nicolas Höning painted a picture where this becomes more clear. Thanks to LF Energy for the great summary!

Frank Jossi and Energy News Network did a wonderful job of capturing the "why" and "how" of our engine repower technologies in this article. Check it out to learn more about our technology and upcoming demonstrations with St. Thomas Center for Microgrid Research! https://lnkd.in/gCHRYh69 Clean, low-carbon ammonia provides an economically viable path forward to decarbonizing combustion in lower-visibility energy and transportation applications. Remote power generation and agricultural diesel engines are just as carbon-intense as Class 8 trucks but are not scrutinized by the public and news cycles quite as often. It's imperative that we not let these applications become "out of sight / out of mind" as we tackle our carbon emissions! #AccelerateNorth #demo2deploy #energy #Ammonia #startups #innovation #decarbonization #pilots #Minnesota

I would like to share this great review by the team at RACE 4 2030CRC of the multiple studies/pilots/demonstrations that have been undertaken in Australia. These studies (numbering around 190 in all) span a period of the past 5 years with a cumulative fund deployment (in cash and kind) of close to 1 billion AUD . The link to the report and an enlightening panel discussion on its key recommendations is as below https://lnkd.in/gHyc9aDZ https://lnkd.in/g77G53kC As per BNEF, Australia is world leading in the adoption of Consumer Electric/Distributed Electric resources (CER/DER) as a percentage of total generating resources. It is very likely to retain that lead well into netzero transition. This is a very different model from say, China where bulk of the renewables deployment is being done centrally and, to all appearances, CERs are clearly not at the centre stage of their planning process. Technically, commercially and socially this kind of deployment requires a more nuanced and well interrogated approach. Many other jurisdictions across the world would do well to learn from it as they seek to become the fastest followers in this space. Some of my takeaways from this report and the wonderful panel discussion are: -The taxonomy of studies that have been undertaken comprise six broad themes. Some of these themes (LV system planning/operation, end use innovations) may received more attention than others that may be equally important (eg customer and societal impact, whole of system planning, etc) -A missed opportunity so far may have been customer/prosumer feedback for who cost of energy, reliability, resilience and demand flexibility are likely to be the key concerns -Social change is usually underestimated and energy transition may not be an exception to this rule unless we are smart about it. -An 'anti fragile' systems design will become critically important as DER/CER penetration keep going up
"The energy system was built by people, for people and consists mostly of people and their behaviors and if we don't consider their part in the transition, we won't be thinking is a systems way at all", Alison Reeve Grattan Institute Great webinar on the future of our energy system. Well done Bill Lilley and Mark Paterson as well as the excellent panel. RACE for 2030 #CERunleashed

My first introduction to ammonia was as a child helping my parents clean the house. Today, ammonia could help decarbonize transportation and heavy industry, especially if created with power from clean energy sources. The University of Minnesota startup Aza Power sees an emerging market for its technology, which converts diesel engines to run on ammonia. #ammoniaenergy#umn#grid_catalyst

Two stellar updates from ZCarbon: 1. The first successful Field Demo of our Direct Air Capture technology can capture 5 tons of CO2 per year. 2. We recently invented a breakthrough catalyst for DAC that is only needed in 100ppm quantities, is low cost, and the current commercial production is enough to enable Gigaton Carbon Removal. ZCarbon is changing the game in Carbon Removal with low cost, low energy DAC using a robust, efficient sorbent coupled with a Carbon Utilization approach!
