Step into the cockpit of an autonomous racecar. 🤖🏎 As we prepare for an engaging summer season, featuring races at The Goodwood Group Group's hillclimb and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, we are excited to present unique footage that offers an alternative viewpoint of autonomous racing technology in action. 🌞🏁 This footage, documented by the FTM Institute of Automotive Technology TUM in 2023, was taken during our last competition at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza for the Milano Monza Open-Air Motor Show. It provides a tangible demonstration of the advanced capabilities of our robotics platform and the participating universities' AI drivers. 🎥🚗 It was captured using a GoPro camera strategically mounted just above the enclosure of dSPACE's AUTERA AutoBox onboard computer. This positioning provides an unparalleled view of our robotics platform's functionality, showcasing its capability to autonomously navigate circuit configurations, manage throttle input, apply variable braking, and execute precise steering at high velocities. 💡🔧 #futureofmobility #autonomous #highspeedautonomy #driverless

🏎️ Since 2021 The Indy Autonomous Challenge (IAC), presented by Bridgestone, has been setting records and driving the future of autonomous racing, with teams from top universities competing globally. At Goodwood, they aim to set a new autonomous world record, demonstrating the potential of AI-driven vehicles. The IAC has been a trailblazer in autonomous racing, setting a remarkable land speed record of 192.2 mph! This year’s event highlighted the world’s fastest autonomous racecar, the AV-24, as it tackled the iconic Goodwood Hillclimb. 🏎️ Developed with a Dallara chassis from the Indy NXT series and cutting-edge tech, the AV-24 was piloted by the PoliMOVE Autonomous Racing Team-MSU team from Politecnico di Milano and Michigan State University, with support from the Unimore Racing team from Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia. This event marks IAC’s UK debut, promising a unique challenge and an exciting showcase of innovation. The Learning to Trust Autonomy Workshop and BU F1Tenth Grand Prix is being held at Boston University on November 22nd, 2024. The workshop will foster discussion among participants with the goal of answering the critical question: What will it take to trust and invest in learning-based systems when training data can’t cover every real-world scenario? The BU F1Tenth Grand Prix is open to teams of all expertise level. This autonomous racing competition features miniaturized self-driving cars engaging in time trials and head-to-head races.
