As announced in yesterday's #TRATON GROUP 9M Interim Statement for 2024, the Group has reported an increase in sales revenue and profitability. Within this result, each brand of the Group made a contribution, with highlights from the third quarter of 2024 including: 🔧 Scania Group announced Services 360, a new service offering for all of Europe, and showcased a full range of electrified and biofuel trucks – including a new battery electric tractor – at IAA Transportation in Hanover. 🚛 MAN Truck & Bus SE now has a full lineup of eTrucks, thanks to the launch of the eTGL for light distribution. 🌎 International completed its rebranding from Navistar. As International, the brand returns to its roots but also reflects its future-facing mission to offer enhanced customer experiences. 🚍 Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus is bringing the new e-Volksbus to passenger transportation. First announced earlier in 2024, the bus has now entered homologation. The EU Parliament has agreed on new rules to accelerate the uptake of #zeroemission trucks by granting trucks four extra tonnes to accommodate electric and hydrogen technology and one-tonne axle increase.   Westport Fuel Systems and Volvo Group have announced the intention to establish a joint venture aimed at accelerating the commercialization and global adoption of Westport’s HPDI fuel system technology.   The joint venture shared between Volvo, Daimler Truck AG and TRATON GROUP announces a new structure to be built in France, also addressed to heavy-duty electric vehicles. The charging hub will be located in Heudebouville, in the logistics district to the south of Rouen.   Widespread British supermarket chain Tesco has received the first of 151 IVECO eDaily cabs ordered with the aim of reducing emissions from its fleet. The configuration chosen by Tesco is one with two battery packs.   Leading trailer manufacturer Schmitz Cargobull AG started a cooperation agreeement with Italy-based transport company LC3, aimed at promoting sustainable transportation. #sustainabletruckandvan #stv #trucks #top5 #week #news

We just placed an order for yet another 100 electric trucks 🚛🔌 We currently have the largest fleet of heavy-duty electric trucks in Europe, and with this step, we're closer to reaching the target of electrifying at least 25% of its truck fleet by 2030. "We want to drive the transition to more sustainable road transport. Our expanding fleet of electric trucks will not only contribute to reducing the climate impact of our operations. It will also enable DFDS to support more companies looking to decarbonise their supply chains. The 100 new electric trucks underline our commitment to pushing the development forward," says Niklas Andersson, EVP of the Logistics Division. Today is an especially good day to be working at DSV 🌍   We have signed an agreement with Volvo Trucks to deepen our partnership and deploy 300 electric trucks into our operations by 2026. This is in direct alignment with the strategy DSV - Global Transport and Logistics published earlier this year, where we outlined our roadmap for achieving our climate targets by 2030. As part of that plan, we committed to deploying 300 electric trucks and other low- and zero-emission alternatives within the next two years, while also significantly improving the efficiency of our remaining diesel fleet. Today’s agreement is a clear execution of that strategy 💪   We are working hard on establishing the necessary charging infrastructure to support this transition, while our colleagues around the world are deploying BEVs into the most optimal flows and operations in close cooperation with our sub-suppliers and customers. This agreement will further support rapid deployment in our key markets.   I am looking forward to continuing the work of bringing electrification to market at scale and making even more sustainable solutions available to our customers 🚚🔋

🚀 Automating Horizontal Transport: A Year of Live Operations with Human-Assisted Autonomy 🚛 After more than a year of successful cooperation in the HHLA Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG terminal in Tallinn and FERNRIDE-enabled autonomous terminal tractors being a part of daily live operations and doing productive moves, it is time to share the insights and learnings from this unique deployment. “After one year of working together with FERNRIDE, I can conclude that the technology is viable, and offers good opportunities for use in the logistics sector”, says Toomas Uibokant, Operations Manager at HHLA TK Estonia.
