Europe has many of the raw materials it needs to be more self-reliant. It also has a deep history in mining with San José itself originally being a tin mine up until the 1960's. As everything evolves, Europe has learnt from its experiences in regards to sustainability and best practice and has installed some of the most stringent requirements globally. Infinity Lithium has redesigned the San José Lithium Project over the years to continually improve the Project from a social and environmental perspective, to the point where we have an underground mine and integrated conversion process with one of the lowest CO2 emission rates for integrated hard rock lithium mining and conversion globally. Europe has the opportunity to secure more of its own critical raw materials without sacrificing the environmental values it prides itself on. https://lnkd.in/egqNYf5F

The landscape for mining operators is more challenging – and exciting – than ever before. The sector deals with the dual imperatives of increasing production to supply critical minerals for the energy transition, while it works at the same time to decarbonize its own operations. At this year's International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) in Sydney, Australia, our colleague Tom Harper, VP of Commercial Development and Enterprise Customer Solutions, joined a panel discussion around decarbonization strategies for mining.
