Call for research - sharing this #SustainableTransport #survey https://lnkd.in/en66annC on behalf of our colleague researcher Michael Bissel: How can behaviourally informed interventions contribute to #sustainability in the #transport sector? We currently investigate this question in collaboration with an international research team. The objective of the project is to synthesize evidence from around the world on interventions that address individual behaviour change in the context of sustainable mobility with the help of #BehaviouralScience. If you are aware of studies or projects that might be relevant for this review, we invite you to contribute to this knowledge base. To share your suggestions, please complete this short survey (max. 5 min.). A research protocol with more information on the project is linked on the first page of the survey: https://lnkd.in/en66annC #EvidenceSynthesis #BehaviouralScience #AcademicResearch

There’s at least two digitalisation projects in the #CaspianSea. A beautiful project from Aselle Tasmagambetova Central-Asian Institute for Environmental Research (CAIER) to equip #Caspianseals with portable, flexible and multifunctional sensors made of graphene. https://lnkd.in/eSrufTN3 “The Caspian Sea Digital Twin” by P.P. Shirshov Institute of Oceanology, Russian Academy of Sciences – Russian Federation https://lnkd.in/eSuvvUWu (which we mentioned earlier, but not really sure the project has a cloudless future). Please comment, if know more! #oceandecade #oceandata
To move from the ocean we have to the ocean we want, we need relevant, timely, reliable and accessible ocean data, information and knowledge – and private industry has a key role to play in this endeavour. Issued at the 2024 Ocean Decade Conference by the Ocean Decade Corporate Data Group, the Call to Action on Ocean Data Sharing provides guidance for organisations of all backgrounds to facilitate the public sharing of private-sector ocean data in support of ocean science and the development of a sustainable ocean economy. 💡 NEW PAPER 💡 With Frédéric Quemmerais-Amice, Pierre Scemama, Rémi Mongruel, Clément Surun, and Harold Levrel What if the French State published statistics on the health status of all marine ecosystems? What if these statistics were published consistently and frequently, to inform public policy-making? We test the feasibility to develop these accounts, in accordance with the UN statistical standard SEEA EA. We show that this is feasible, but there are real data gaps to do so comprehensively, and link it to economic accounts. Now it’s in the hands of the environment ministry and statistical office to take it forward. Link to the paper: https://lnkd.in/eh9e42k5

The Crisis Landscape (CL) is a test methodology that aims to capture the entanglement and dynamics between the Covid-19 crisis and the Swedish food system through data-based visualization. The methodology includes the creation of a constantly evolving database with systemic trends captured through qualitative research methods, such as interviews with food system actors or literature reviews. This methodology stems from the Rapid Transition Lab by Dark Matter Labs, Stockholm Resilience Centre and Vinnova – Navigating transformations in times of crises towards healthy, sustainable and just Swedish and planetary food systems. Thanks to all contributors: Aleksander Nowak, Linnea Rönnquist, Juhee Hahm, Heather Griffin, Chloe Tager, Indy Johar, My Sellberg, Per Olsson, Jenny Norrby, Garry Peterson and Alexander Alvsilver. Link to the Rapid Transition Lab report and provocation is in the comments 👇 How might we use mapping to better navigate the multiple cascading and future, unknown crises? #poweredbykumu #systemsmapping

The results are in! 🌲 We asked: How much of the U.S. forest landscape is mature or old growth? Over 200 votes later, the answer is here: 63%! That’s nearly two-thirds of National Forest System and BLM forested lands. Did you guess right, or are you surprised by the answer? This critical insight opens up big questions about how we manage these ecosystems for future resilience. 👉 Dive into the details and explore the full report: https://lnkd.in/ecNKHE_G

🌳 Very excited that our #ESVD summary paper has been published. 🐝 With over 9,400 monetary values (currently over 10,000) from over 1,300 valuation studies, our paper provides a great insight in the field of #economicvaluation of ecosystem services and some developments over time. 🏔 The paper is an updated perspective 10 years (and a bit 😉) later following de Groot et al. (2012). It takes you to the vast depths of economic valuation, capturing values for all ecosystem services from ecosystems such as the deep seas as well as the great mountains and all in between. ❄ But with data alone, we are not there yet. The paper also follows the stream of the enormous momentum and interest for this type of information. It highligths how the data can be and has been applied and integrated in different private and public decision-making processes to halt #biodiversityloss and #ecosystemdegradation. Our mission is to make nature count and to structurally integrate the 'full value' of ecosystem services in everyday decision making by governments, businesses and individuals. Together with my great colleagues Victoria Guisado Luke Brander Dolf Groot Mieke Siebers Philipp Schagner and previous contributors Stefanos Solomonides Andrea Ghermandi among others!
