At 𝗟𝗢𝗖𝗔𝗟 𝗚𝗼𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗡⁣ we focus on accelerating the 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (#CET) ⁣of European municipalities. Especially those that, due to their small size and remote location, face the greatest barriers in their commitment to #sustainability. 🌱 🎯 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀⁣ are key players in providing the commitment and innovation needed to address and solve many of the environmental challenges we face. That is why today we want to focus our attention on the 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 (EGC) for cities over 100.000 habitants and the 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗳 (EGL) for smaller cities as of 20.000 habitants. The awards recognise and reward local action towards a transition to a greener, more sustainable future. ♻ Both, Green Capital and Green Leaf, recognises progress in protecting biodiversity and green spaces in cities. Renewable energies and building renovation are also taken into account. We're excited to share a report on a localized progressive preliminary Forum on the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). The forum highlights the role of corporates in actively supporting the Nationally Determined Contributions of the country. Despite Sri Lanka being a low carbon emitter, the forum emphasized the necessity of decarbonization as a pathway for energy security, sustainability, and a net-zero future. Download the report 📥

Q3 Baltic Cleantech Landscape Report is Out! Here’s the summary for my fellow cleantech enthusiasts: * The Baltic cleantech sector had a 40% growth in investments this year, showing a strong comeback after a brief slowdown. * The main focus is creating more demand for cleantech and ensuring enough funding. This involves support from both the government and private companies to help cleantech grow and reach more people. * Estonia’s KWOTA stood out by winning the World Economic Forum’s Traceability for Circularity Challenge, showing how innovative recycling solutions can lead the way in the circular economy. Even with this progress, the sector still faces challenges, especially when it comes to finding enough money for companies to grow. But these numbers show we’re moving in the right direction. 🖼 We do not have a picture but we nonetheless had a very productive meeting this morning with DEFINITE-CCRI — Deal Engine with Finance, Investment and Technical Expertise and CircularInvest Circular Cities EU projects! It was actually the third in a row of synergy-making meetings, as we already exchanged with InvestCEC project and RESOURCES. ⁉ What did we discussed about?! We won’t unveil too much right now but our yearly event is in preparation…. (just save the date for 09/10 in Brussels and stay tuned!) 🎯 One of the objectives of this event will be to provide an environment that encourages professional dialogue and networking among partners of Horizon Europe CCRI-PDA projects, which are generating innovative knowledge, creating skills and demonstrating systemic solutions. This, in my view, is what it is all about. Compliance is a crucial element but engaging with compliance tools so that they work for you can be so enriching. One can be passive and allow reporting to be a box ticking exercise or one can see this as an opportunity, using compliance tools to reshape strategy. It is worth remembering that the ESRS & double materiality assessments are well researched i.e. not there to trip you up. They do, rather, lay bare areas to tackle as a business. This more engaged approach of integrating sustainability matters into strategy will be invaluable both to your business and our planet & fellow people.

On 4 October, Kingfa and China Renewable Resources Group signed a cooperation agreement. 👏 👏 👏 This strategic cooperation agreement marks the start of a new chapter in resource recycling cooperation.
