Another Problem Solved! 💡 A beef processing facility in Western Canada was experiencing challenges with the spray manifold they were using to mist water onto the beef patties before they were flash frozen. The spray manifold was no longer spraying the complete width of the conveyor belt, resulting in inconsistent product weight and, therefore, quality. 🟠 A consultant in the food industry approached Ravebo with a request to reduce odour emissions from a cooking process. In this particular cooking process, odours are carried by fat particles. Ravebo has a track record of successfully resolving similar challenges and has undertaken multiple projects in this area. Apart from the unpleasant odour emitted, the buildup of fat in the customer’s system potentially poses a fire hazard, as it can create a highly flammable layer in the chimney's outflow. It is crucial to optimise the system for these reasons. Ravebo developed a special housing with a separator and an internal drain, completely out of stainless steel 316L. The design of the separator housing can be implemented in the piping system of the customer efficiently, directly downstream of the industrial fume extraction hoods. Fat particles are removed, keeping the downstream piping system clean. A hinged hatch is used for easy maintenance, replacing the separator for a spare one in just minutes. In this case, the polluted separator is rinsed in a caustic bath or by steam cleaning and can be reused. 5 Great Reasons Not to Install an HPS Pigging System Yes, you read that right. This week, I received some feedback from an end user (through a third party) letting us know they won’t be considering an HPS pigging system for their line. That’s fair—pigging isn’t right for every process or situation, and sometimes the business case doesn’t stack up. I get that. But here’s the kicker: the reason given was that they’re just going to accept the losses as they’re happy with how things are. This was before we’d had any meaningful conversation about their process, identified where or how much loss they’re facing, or even presented a solution, proposal, or business case. And this isn’t the first time. In fact, HPS once worked with a juice processing company. We showed how our solution could save them thousands of dollars with a quick payback period, but they chose to live with the losses. That business, unsurprisingly, no longer exists. So, here are 5 great reasons not to invest in an HPS pigging system: 1. Flushing perfectly saleable product (and profits) down the drain is fine by us! 2. Improving efficiency while costs are increasing? No thanks. 3. Environmental issues and sustainability aren’t important—water and energy are cheap, right? 4. Slow changeovers are manageable; just add another batch or shift to meet demand. 5.
