Health is not created in clinics and hospitals. It is created in the streets, homes, communities, schools, markets, workplaces and parliaments. It is created in the air people breathe, food they eat, the water they drink, the conditions in which they live and work and in our changing climate. Whenever people do need care, they must be able to access the health services they need, when and where they need them without facing financial hardship by paying for care out of their own pockets. #HealthForAll #UHC #ClimateAction #ClimateAndHealth Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus World Health Organization

As the #MurrayDarlingRivers provide water to the 2.3 million people living in the Basin, and drinking water for more than 3 million people, we must take care of them. Protecting the Right to Health: A Global Imperative 🌍✊ As diseases, disasters, and conflicts threaten millions, and the climate crisis exacerbates, the right to health is under siege. Despite 140 countries recognizing health as a human right, essential health services remain out of reach for over half the world's population. For World Health Day 2024, the theme 'My health, my right' calls for universal access to quality healthcare, education, clean air, water, and more. It's time to ensure health equity for all and uphold our fundamental rights. #ClimateAction #WorldHealthDay2024 #WHDay2024 #HealthForAll #ClimateHealth #pacjasouthafrica #PACJA

Good to talk to BBCs Women’s Hour this week to support the calls of Rosamund Adoo-Kissi-Debrah for more action to be taken to tackle air pollution. Her little girl Ella died from an asthma attack related to air pollution and governments all over the world are not doing enough to address this. This is exactly why transport policy should be considered to be public health policy, we need an urgent long plan for the transition to green industry and all Governments need to be legally mandated to act in the interests of future generations
