We are thrilled to launch a solo artcast by Korean new media artist Tahn! Tahn reinterprets the traditional Korean Ilwolobongdo folding screens through a contemporary lens. Known for their historical and symbolic significance in the royal courts of the Joseon Dynasty, Ilwolobongdo screens traditionally depict the sun, moon, and five peaks—symbolizing the king, unity, and balance in the universe. Through Tahn’s reimaginings, these motifs traverse time, blending cultural heritage with digital media to create compelling narratives that resonate with today’s global issues, such as the preservation of our ecosystems and cultural heritage, and the promises of a future driven by technological innovation.
