We ran this beast of gun drill in some aluminum yesterday! Custom made from Sterling Gun Drills Inc. 1.007” diameter, drilled 10.63” deep. We used the recommended speeds and feeds from manufacturers site. 500sfm .0015ipr. I have used them many times for deep hole applications that require tight tolerance. I would like to share the part but NDA restrictions prevent me. #Aerospace #Aviation #SpaceTech #AerospaceEngineering #AerospaceIndustry #AviationTechnology #AerospaceInnovation #AerospaceManufacturing #AviationSafety #SpaceExploration #DefenseTech #AerospaceResearch #FlightTech #AviationDesign #SpaceIndustry #PoweredByProShop #Manufacturing #Quality

🔧 Transfer Alignment: Simultaneous Initialization and Calibration of Inertial Navigation Systems 🔧 In today's defense technologies, enhancing the accuracy of weapon systems and maximizing operational efficiency are of critical importance. In this context, Transfer Alignment is the process of simultaneously initializing and calibrating weapon inertial navigation systems (INS) using data from the host aircraft's navigation system. So, how does this process work? 🚀Use of Navigation Data: Transfer Alignment is based on calculating the difference between the navigation solutions of the aircraft and the weapon INS. This calculation is continuously performed during flight. Kalman Filter: The obtained difference data is used as observations in a Kalman filter to produce the desired estimates. The Kalman filter minimizes both measurement and prediction errors to provide the most accurate navigation solutions.Simultaneous Initialization and Calibration: This method allows the weapon system's INS to be quickly and accurately calibrated using data from the aircraft. As a result, the operational accuracy of the system is enhanced.Transfer Alignment plays a crucial role in increasing the efficiency of modern defense systems. This process is essential for ensuring precision and reliability, which are fundamental to operational success.Innovative solutions like these in defense technologies will be decisive in gaining superiority on the battlefield of the future. 🛡️#DefenseTechnology #Navigation #KalmanFilter #TransferAlignment #INS #InertialNavigation #AerospaceEngineering

As industry leaders in Aerospace products, we are proud to say our Coated Cables contribute to the safety and performance of an aircraft. Let’s examine some of the ways our cables cater to this mission critical industry. - Flight control – flight controls such as ailerons, elevators and rudders, which control a plane's direction, ascension and descension use Coated Cables to control these aircraft parts based on control inputs from the cockpit. - Landing gear – deploying or retracting landing gear is assisted by Coated Cables supporting the landing gear materials, ensuring take offs and landings are done safely. - Engine controls – many of the intricate parts of an airplane engine have Coated Cables within them, to transmit signals from the cockpit. The corrosion resistance and strength of our Coated Cables allow for effective use in all these aerospace applications. The next time you see a plane in the sky, you’re probably looking at some CWI product. 💥Diving into Aerospace - Explosive Ordnance - Part 3 of 3💥 Some aircraft weapons are simple, others are very complex. Even items such as fixed gun ammunition which can appear simple at first can have complex firing, fuzing systems, and have complex integration considerations with the firing aircraft. Some of these systems can have complex and sensitive seekers, or guidance and electronic systems. Other systems have large, high explosive warheads, and complex rocket motors. Other weapons are required to be fully integrated with the Aircraft mission system, software, and mission planning environments. Whereas, others need to communicate with GPS satellites, or the launch aircraft during flight. Bombs, Missiles and Ammunition have intricate design and testing requirements. These systems need to be safe, reliable, and need to survive sitting in store houses for years. They then need to survive the aircraft operational environment where they are exposed to the extremes of vibration, temperature and aerodynamic loads. Furthermore, Bombs, Missiles and Ammunition need to successfully destroy moving targets, hardened bunkers or land accurately within close proximity to friendly forces. EO engineering in the Aerospace domain requires an understanding of Aircraft Systems, Extreme Environments, Explosives, Chemistry, Software, Metallurgy, Maintenance and both EO and Airworthiness regulations. Missiles that use infrared guidance are often called "heat-seeking" because infrared radiation is strongly emitted by hot objects. Many objects, such as people, vehicle engines, and aircraft, generate and emit heat. #Science #Technology #Aircraft #Heat #Missiles #Engine #Vehicle #People

Repair, maintenance, and inspection are essential in the aerospace sector to guarantee the airworthiness and passenger safety of aircraft. FPI (Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection) is a key part of that process, helping to uncover hidden defects on critical aircraft components before they can lead to in-flight failures. Here’s an insight into how it works, and its benefits: #sfe #engineering #aerospace #repair
