Long ago my son asked me that why do we touch feet of elders, I then explained him about our culture and told him that, in our Indian culture, touching the feet of elders is a sign of respect, gratitude, and humility. This gesture is known as "Pranam" or "Namaskara". Here are some reasons which I explained him for touching feet. #Respect and #reverence: Touching feet is a way to show respect and reverence to elders, who are considered a source of wisdom, knowledge, and experience. #Gratitude: It's a way to express gratitude for their guidance, support, and blessings. #Humility: Touching feet is a humble gesture, signifying that we value their wisdom and experience more than our own. #Culturaltradition: This practice is deeply rooted in Indian culture and is passed down through generations. #Spiritualsignificance: In Hinduism, the feet are considered a sacred part of the body, representing humility and surrender. #Blessings: Touching feet is believed to bring blessings and good fortune from the elders. #Connection: It's a way to connect with elders, showing appreciation for their presence and guidance in our lives.
