Let's join forces to help Spain with the flood relief efforts. On October 29th, a devastating storm caused massive flash floods in the Valencian Community, turning streets into rivers, destroying homes, and sweeping away vehicles. The situation is critical, and reconstruction efforts are expected to take months. To support these efforts, the Generali Group is donating €250,000 to the Spanish Red Cross to provide immediate assistance. Generali Spain has also launched a local fundraising campaign, and will add a matching donation to the amount raised. To show our solidarity with the affected areas, we are also launching a Global Fundraising to support the Spanish Red Cross on the ground, focusing on helping those displaced from their homes or cut off from essential services. Your donation will help provide: • Food and water • Medical equipment • Emergency response vehicles • Temporary shelter • Psychological support To contribute: https://bit.ly/4eg9i44 Thank you.

Since the beginning of the month, Chile has been fighting the biggest wildfires in a century Aligned with its principles of providing immediate relief efforts to people affected by a disaster, we worked closely with Zurich Insurance and Zurich Santander Insurance America in Chile, as well as Universal Assistance to define the best response and unlock funding quickly. One of the first actions was a donation to Fundación Gastronomía Social, our local community program partner, to support the installation of an emergency kitchen. This initiative is helping serve meals to thousands of affected people daily until mid-February and up to the end of the month, depending on the needs. If you wish to support relief efforts too, we are also matching donations made via these two fundraising campaigns* until the end of the month: ➡ 🔗 Fundación Gastronomía Social: https://lnkd.in/ekV6tGK3 ➡ 🔗 CRUZ ROJA CHILENA and Junta Nacional de Bomberos de Chile: https://lnkd.in/eE_N-7Us Organizations on the ground are combining their efforts and networks to scale up their response as the needs evolve. We will continue to monitor the situation. *you can translate these fundraising pages into your native language by using the right-click option.

How tall are you? 🤔 Do you know anyone 6ft tall, 9ft tall or 17ft tall? Me neither! Now, imagine you are caught in a flooding 17ft tall for days. In the video below, The Weather Channel featuring Mark Elliot, explains the dangers of flooding in the wake of hurricanes using immersive mixed reality. Just to give you an idea of what people in Brazil, at the state of Rio Grande do Sul, are going through right now! There are 1.5 million people affected by a catastrophic flooding right now - the worst of its history. This has impacted over 70% of the state and in some regions the water has reached 17ft high, destroying entire cities. For context, I am from Brazil, more specifically from Rio Grande do Sul state. My family and friends have all been affected, with some having to leave their homes and others loosing everything. I created a GoFundMe campaign to help me raise funds to donate to people and organisations I trust and I know are working tirelessly to help those that need the most at this time. Any help would be immensely appreciated > https://gofund.me/9ceaf934 #Brazil #climate #teamwork #community #fundraising #charity

There are donation bins on every corner in São Paulo which has become a hub for collecting supplies and donations destined for Rio Grande do Sul. Some people may be hesitant to donate money because they are unsure if it will reach the intended recipients or if it will be mismanaged by organizations. However, donating money is often more effective than donating physical items in disaster relief efforts for the following reasons: a. Monetary donations allow relief organizations to purchase exactly what is needed, when it's needed. They can allocate funds to purchase goods locally, which can often be more cost-effective and timely than shipping physical items from distant locations. b. Coordinating the transportation, storage, and distribution of physical items can be complex and costly. Money allows relief organizations to streamline these processes and focus on delivering aid efficiently. c. Physical donations, especially if not precisely what's needed, can sometimes create logistical challenges and result in wasted resources. Money minimizes this risk by allowing relief organizations to purchase precisely what's required. #DisasterRelief #DonateNow

In the wake of a disaster, the reflex to donate clothes, bottles of water, and other conventional items can lead to more problems than they solve. If you want to help disaster relief efforts, the best way is to give directly to local organizations that can be trusted (do a few minutes of research) or the American Red Cross. It may be impersonal, but a donation is truly the best way to help in these circumstances #disasterrelief #emergencymanagement https://lnkd.in/ecE8VmQ3

If you have an employee/colleague from Rio Grande do Sul working this week, take it easy. No media can portray the sadness of seeing: your family, friends, acquaintances: all defeated. That weekend, an entire state lost: home, belongings, hopes and even family members. To reinforce the dimension: there is no family unscathed. The despair, the fear, the trauma. Friendly Tip: - No need to ask for much either - Give some space Each person will deal with this differently. But in the end, those who are there are left fighting for reconstruction; but all Brazilians are like that: sad. Let's take it easy. 🫶🏼 _________________________________ In times like these, every kind gesture makes a significant difference. We are asking for donations to help those affected by this tragedy. Your contribution, however small, will go a long way toward providing much-needed assistance to those in need. £1 = over R$6 Let's make the most of the exchange rate. Every penny helps!✨ If you can donate or share this message with your network, we would be extremely grateful. Donate here or any other trusted fundraising page: https://lnkd.in/dw7PWkcg

Kenya is suffering devastating floods. Luckily our team and their families are safe, but many are not. We want to help. As a team, we set up a fundraiser for The Action Foundation — a local organization we've closely worked with and deeply trust — so they can provide direct aid. I'm reaching out, not as a PR stunt, nor as a company, but as a colleague, to my LinkedIn network for support. 🌍💚 🔹 Why your help matters: Families, especially in informal areas are facing tough times. Even a few euros can make a real difference in providing safety. 🔹 Our promise: Every penny donated goes straight to the ground, overseen by Maria Omare and her team at The Action Foundation. Smartmile as a company will cover any payment processing costs. All to ensure aid reaches only those who need it transparently. If you want, you can share our fundraiser in your network. 🤝 Any donation or share of this post helps more than you know. For now, we will keep the donation link open till May 15 to be able to transfer the money as soon as possible. ➡️ Donate using this link https://lnkd.in/ez8dfg4X Thanks for considering a donation 🙏✨ You can also get a better picture of the devastating situation with this DW news report https://lnkd.in/ega64q46 🌈 #EmergencyRelief #TogetherForNairobi #ActNow
