2025 - the year cross-platform heavyweights Leica Geosystems part of Hexagon (Hexagon) and Orica (Geosolutions) on common ground - as competitors in the hunt, grooming, and engagement of new clients, and conversion projects. With the number of mines -- acce$$ible mining companies in a near static state, through buy-ins, outright purchases, or further consolidation, the challenge of busine$$ development is significant. Both carry heavy overheads following purchase of former competing and vertically oriented companies. Maximizing profits/turnover will be keenly featured. In both camps, I am aware of recent staff reductions -- where senior and long-serving customer-facing leaders were relieved of their positions -- this has an impact on operations that serve client needs. Having been a member of the rise of both on-site monitoring cores from 2006-2020 -- the starts, steps, hiccups, and success - where much good was done in the name of safety, operational efficiency, and geotechnical support - were rooted in innumerable hours with clients hands, minds, and hearts in focus - hopefully this remains the case. Though experience suggests that may suffer 1st. Prices need to come down to retain flagship accounts, reach mid-size, and smaller operations (who need services/sure hands to engage, deploy, and see data results mature). Combination sensor conceptualizations, delivery, deployment, and management will need cross-platform trained services and support techs, online guides, and a commitment to 24/7 delivery. Ironically this has always been the premier challenge - once system hardware/parts availability was regionalized. A training program beyond corporate halls for "Mine-Data Technicians" with exposure and experience in many hardware and software combinations is required. Field-Services teams regionally deployed will secure the leader going forward. Integration with "consulting" firms, through data franchises, or a related connection could support ongoing new business, conversions, and deliverable successes. Clients should continue to demand complete engagement for their investments in the $200,000 to $1,000,000 range - or more. The RoI of a delivered, working, acquiring, and disseminating #monitoring service is XX times the investment, and significant improvements in serviceability, survivability, and long-term value from both over the years assure a 5-10 year value --- where depreciation and deliverable outputs significantly alter the per year running costs... making #monitoring one of the best #mining operation support investments south of #capex scale programs. #Monitor, #monitor, #monitor is an old "field" saying ... and fortunately, these two giants in their acquisitions and profiles have left openings for the smaller client-focused operations like AssetAssurance Monitoring and others. The value of safe, responsible, and environmentally focused mining remains a premier global opportunity, and need. #RRM
