$60 billion for impact investing… The UAE’s ALTÉRRA and the Netherlands’ Pensioenfonds ABP have each committed $30bn to impact in the last few months. They won’t be the last.   🌟 Congratulations to both these defining institutions. This is just the start of large capital allocations to impact as the industry moves into the trillions.   The key to continuing this capital shift is maintaining impact authenticity. We must avoid, and critique and expose, impact-lite and impact-washing solutions. We must set rigorous standards -- and encourage not box ticking but a race to the top for impact quality.   🌟 Scale with integrity – these should be our watchwords. Shoutout to Matteo Menegatti and Raphael Betti and all the panelists! Today’s discussions again highlighted the need for innovation and collaboration to bridge the sustainable financing gap and to navigate the path from problems to sustainable solutions. Some 🔑 takeaways: 📍The aspect „impact“ is reshaping risk-return into triangular investment frameworks, acknowledging the importance and complexity of sustainable investing 📍Intentionality of impact is essential —Investments need clear and measurable goals rather than simply being communicated via UN SDGs 📍Controlled agility is still a hot topic, particularly in regard to SFDR-related challenges and requirements (e.g. today‘s application of ESMA’s fund naming guidelines, covering amongst others the term „impact“) 📍Leveraging AI and metadata analyses can be critical for benchmarking and identifying the best impact „bang for the buck“ We shall remind ourselves that together, we can turn challenges into opportunities for lasting impact! 🌍 #ImpactInvesting #SustainableFinance #CollaborationForChange

It’s a pleasure sharing the new Lexology publication on “ESG and Impact Investing”! This publication is perfectly timed with the Italian #CSRD transposition decree, which embeds the content of the directive and specifies the most important dispositions on responsibilities and sanctions. We analyse the principal EU’s #ESG regulations, which are setting the standard for corporate sustainability and impact investing, giving sustainability a rigorous approach and imposing changes on #corporategovernance, #supplychain and #procurement, as well as #datagovernance and contractual agreements. The EU’s #SFDR, CSRD, #CS3D, and #Taxonomy are not just EU regulations but global benchmarks for ESG, aligning with these standards is becoming a necessity for global businesses. The shift is not just limited to the EU, as countries like Australia, Canada, and Singapore are adopting similar frameworks, requiring businesses to stay agile and informed across different markets. Moreover, the EU regualtions by themselves have extraterritoriality effects, impacting non-EU businesses having relationships or willing to have relationships with EU companies.
