Imagine: you leave your homeland and move to a country about 2000 km (ca. 1200 miles) away. Your social capital is reduced to (almost) zero, people talk to you a different language (you're lucky enough to learn at school as a child though), you are... how to put it better... you are an owner of a limited emotional intelligence. And you basically have only your professional society - something reminds you it's still the same life: INCOSE and its German part Gesellschaft für Systems Engineering e.V. Lots of other things happen. Fast forward, eight years afterwards. You have a citizenship of the country. You have good friends among your neighbours, good comrades among your colleagues, there are people in neighbouring countries which would be happy to have a cup of tea with you. You can feel their feelings. And you have evolved professionally in your discipline. You did it so good, so there is (almost) no other formal way to recognise your advancements. Even if you know: formalities are less important than things you do - you feel proud. I am proud. I am proud to have worked with Daniel Nowara (who is not on this platform) two years and a bit in a wonderful project. I'm grateful that Maik Schäfer trusted me back then and let me take this project. I'm happy my team leader Julian Mueller helped me to meet Mike (which he wasn't obliged to do at all). And I'm lucky I had a chance to enjoy a very beautiful sunset of the environment Juergen Weber established in the department before he left. These were my favourite times, guys: thanks for that. And there is a sweet aftertaste: this project helped me to get this tiny piece of metal for my jacket. The formal aknowledgement of my advancements. The top-level systems engineering certificate according to German-born now-international programme SE-Zert. Thanks for the experience I could gather, digest and describe, thanks for the environment which allowed me to evolve.

Who said engineers live normal life ? (Part 2) 1. At the end of every semester, we say “next Semester me start se padhege”. 2. We release, more connections we have, more intense GPL will follow us. 3. We have to study everything from friends and YouTube one night before the exam. 4. We can’t start any event , functions on time. (Like for BITsians -> BST 🙃) 5. We make plans but the plan hardly gets successful🥲. 6. We always find a person who is better than us in any field, sport, skill we chose . 7. We manage to live with Saanps . Did I miss anything, or does this sum up the life of an engineer perfectly?

An Investment in the Future 🚀 At Nordic Oily Waste, it’s not just about today’s work – it’s also about contributing to future growth and development. That's why we had a more in-depth conversation with our Lead Automation Engineer, Kasper B. Nielsen, about how he plans his lessons when he shares his knowledge and experience every Monday as a part-time instructor at Teknika : “The industry has high expectations for newly graduated engineers, so we aim to include as much hands-on problem-solving as possible in the lessons.” Teknika maintains a high academic standard, and as part of this industry-focused practice, having an instructor like Kasper helps bridge the gap for students between classroom learning and the everyday challenges companies face. “That’s why, in our teaching teams, we emphasize allowing students to work with real models and not just software. This way, students can make real processes and systems work as intended, giving them a stronger sense of the responsibility and risks that come with being an engineer,” Kasper explains.
