Arts & cultural organizations are cultural keynotes that preserve history, inspire creativity, and educate the public, but getting members to come back year after year is a persisting challenge. One of the easiest ways to encourage membership renewals is to offer a loyalty rewards program such as PassPlay. On the blog this month, we talked about how PassPlay fits into the membership renewal strategy of arts & cultural organizations and a few other ways to provide more value to your organization. We are not going to let our country die, are we. We are not going to let it culturally die and wither on the vine," Michael Sheen Let's all shout louder for heritage, identity, culture, pride, and place in Wales until the government listens. There is so much evidence that our culture contributes to the economy, to education, to language, to well-being and for future generations. We need our politicians to imagine how they can support all our priorities, health, food security, education by working with our identity and place. https://lnkd.in/ePgqmveE

I signed a petition on Action Network telling Patricia Wellenbach, President and CEO, Please Touch Museum to Fair Contract Now for PTM Workers. Please Touch Museum is a Philadelphia landmark and one of the top 10 children's museums in the country. PTM's stated mission is to "change a child's life as they discover the power of learning through play." For the thousands of families who visit PTM every year, the staff of the Museum embody that mission and make it a reality. In February of 2023, PTM staff voted by an overwhelming 85% in favor of unionizing. Workers across departments, from public-facing Visitor Experience and Museum Learning to behind-the-scenes Exhibits and office staff, united around the basic need for living wages, more affordable and comprehensive benefits, and greater job security and safety in the workplace. PTM staff love our jobs and are devoted to the children and families we serve; but the vast majority of us aren't paid enough to afford basic necessities or employer-provided health insurance. 95% of union jobs at PTM are paid below a living wage for Philadelphia. We are constantly stressed at work because of high turnover rates, watching too many of our talented colleagues leave for jobs with better pay and benefits. Despite PTM management's promise to engage "in good faith collective bargaining negotiations in a timely and efficient manner," we are still working without a contract more than a year and a half after winning our election. Three months after passing PTM management our economic proposals, we still haven't received their response on pay. And it's been two months since Museum management last met with us for negotiations. We can't wait any longer for a fair contract. Join us in telling PTM President and CEO Patricia Wellenbach and PTM Senior Management: it's time for a fair contract for PTM workers! Can you join me and take action? Click here: https://lnkd.in/eX4xQSqM Thanks!
Fair contract NOW! Join @phillycwu, DC47, & 650+ other supporters by signing our petition: Time to listen to the workers at @pleasetouchmuseum! Sign the petition at: bit.ly/pleasetouchpetition (link in bio) What does Alyse in Visitor Experience @pleasetouchmuseum say? “How are we supposed to be there for the kids of Philadelphia when we can’t afford to meet our basic needs? We need a fair contract now!”

We hope you will enjoy the trailers for this thoughtful film called "The Ride Ahead." From the movie website, "Samuel Habib is a typical 21-year-old, itching to move out, start a career and find love. But no one tells you how to be an adult, let alone an adult with a disability. Can a community of disability activists help him follow his dreams?" Learn more about this film at https://lnkd.in/d-bwFeZw.
