#What is food safety compliance & why is it so important? The primary goal of food safety is—perhaps not surprisingly—to protect consumers from foodborne illnesses and health risks related to allergens. Because food products are for human consumption, few industries deal with regulations as complex as those of the food and beverage industry. Requirements are rigorous and the risks associated with failure are high The US’s Center for Disease Control (CDC) estimates that roughly 48 million Americans get sick, 128,000 are hospitalized, and 3,000 die of foodborne diseases—every year. Foodborne illness breakouts are obviously an important public health issue, but they also represent one of the greatest financial risks that food and beverage companies face. While the direct impact and cost of a food safety breach can be calculated, the indirect damage to a brand is much harder to quantify. Business partners, both on the supply and demand side, may start to move their business elsewhere because being associated with the issue is a potential risk for their brand. This could force a company into having to focus on survival efforts, instead of proactively developing the business. #food #foodsafety #worldwise #food #Technologist

California Trays® - A New Way To Ensure Food Safety Food safety is a growing concern that can have a major impact on your business. It is estimated that 1 in 8 people will get sick form contaminated food. A single event of a food borne disease outbreak can bring unimaginable economic losses. An estimated annual 300,000 hospitalizations and 5000 deaths in the U.S. alone are related to food-borne illnesses. The resulting cost to the U.S. economy is around $7 billion which comes from notifying consumers, removing food from shelves, and paying damages as a result of lawsuits. An increase in the globalized food trade in recent years, along with a complex supply chain all contribute toward an increased number of microbiological food safety outbreaks. Food companies also face increased competition and that can often lead to lax food safety measures which increase chances of a health event.

"Just like food safety keeps our meals safe, your follow will keep my posts fresh and exciting! 🌟 Hahahahah. let's dive into the idea of food safety:) Food safety refers to the handling, preparation, and storage of food in ways that prevent foodborne illnesses and ensure that food is safe for consumption. It involves following proper hygiene and sanitation practices to avoid contamination and the spread of pathogens. ### Why Food Safety is Important 1. **Prevents Foodborne Illnesses**: Proper food safety practices reduce the risk of diseases caused by bacteria, viruses, parasites, and toxins. These illnesses can lead to severe health issues and, in extreme cases, death. 2. **Protects Vulnerable Populations**: Infants, elderly people, pregnant women, and individuals with weakened immune systems are more susceptible to foodborne illnesses. Ensuring food safety protects these vulnerable groups. 3. **Maintains Consumer Confidence**: When food products are safe, consumers have more trust in the food supply chain. This trust is crucial for the success of food businesses and the overall food industry. 4. **Prevents Economic Losses**: Foodborne illnesses can lead to significant economic losses due to medical costs, lost productivity, and legal fees. Ensuring food safety helps prevent these financial burdens. 5. **Complies with Regulations**: Governments and health organizations have established food safety regulations to protect public health. Complying with these regulations is essential for businesses to operate legally and avoid penalties. 6. **Enhances Food Quality**: Safe food is also high-quality food. Proper handling and storage practices help maintain the nutritional value, taste, and appearance of food products. 7. **Reduces Waste**: By preventing contamination and spoilage, food safety practices help reduce food waste, which is beneficial for the environment and the economy. Food safety is crucial for protecting public health, ensuring consumer trust, maintaining economic stability, complying with regulations, and enhancing the overall quality and sustainability of the food supply. #foodsafety #healthy #lifestyle #linkedin #personal #foodtechnology #foodscience #alternative #healthylife #reach #foodscientist #approach #follow

𝙁𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙎𝙚𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙁𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙎𝙖𝙛𝙚𝙩𝙮: 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙖 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝𝙮 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙! Food security is when all people have access to sufficient food to lead productive lives. But is food availability and accessibility enough? An equally important component of food security is 𝙁𝙊𝙊𝘿 𝙎𝘼𝙁𝙀𝙏𝙔! This means that even if there's enough food available (a secure food supply), it's not enough if that food is contaminated or unsafe for consumption. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙁𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘼𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙊𝙧𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙯𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 (𝙁𝘼𝙊) stated that more than 600 million people fall ill, and 4,20,000 die yearly after eating contaminated food, with over 200 diseases identified as foodborne. These illnesses and deaths can be prevented if food safety is prioritised along the food chain, from the producer to the consumer. This means that no matter who you are or what you do, you are essential in ensuring food safety. This #WorldFoodSafetyDay, let us remember that food safety is a collective responsibility between governments, producers, and consumers. Let us do our part by learning to evaluate food safety as part of our daily choices or being more aware of food safety standards and practices. Similarly, let us learn to ask why we can't have pharma-grade testing and quality control for the food on our plates. At Ella Foods , we firmly believe that food needs to be handled precisely like a drug, adhering to the highest safety and quality regulations. Therefore, we use the cleanroom concept that leaves no space for contamination, ensuring that every product is safe, hygienic, and packed with all the natural nutrients and goodness of age-old recipes. #WorldFoodSafetyDay #FoodSafety - #FoodSecuritygohandinhand #EllaFoods #QualityFirst

Safe Food? 🎂Food is essential to everyone, and nothing compares to the satisfaction of consuming food that is both nourishing and safe for health. 🎂If given the chance to make an impact in the food industry, my primary focus would be ensuring that all food produced is safe for consumption. 🎂Understanding the key stages in food production 🍬Primary Production 🍬Food Processing 🍬Distribution 🍬Food Preparation 🎂My emphasis would be on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) during food processing, as I have limited influence over Good Agricultural Practices (GAP). Here’s how I would promote food safety: 🍬Raw Material Analysis: Ensuring materials from the primary production stage are contamination-free and meet quality standards to avoid adulteration or food fraud. 🍬Hygienic Practices: Enforcing strict hygiene standards during processing. 🍬Proper Storage and Handling: Guaranteeing that raw materials and finished products are stored and handled appropriately. 🍬Controlled Use of Additives: Ensuring food additives are used in the right proportions. 🍬Clean Food Contact Surfaces: Regular cleaning and sanitization of all equipment and surfaces. 🍬Cross-Contamination Prevention: Separating raw materials from finished products. 🍬Safe Packaging Materials: Using packaging that does not compromise food safety. 🍬Quality Control: Preventing substandard products from reaching consumers. 🎂These objectives, and many more, reflect my commitment to prioritizing quality over quantity in food production. Kindly share in the comment session what you intend to change in the food industry if you're opportunity to get there. 🎂Are you a professional in the food industry who shares a passion for food safety and career growth?
